What weapons would you like to see in the game?

I still want a Beretta 93R, even if it becomes an uber-rare weapon.

I nearly asked “Robocop version or regular” before realising it would make zero difference in this game.

And oh god yes we badly need that trigger group. Some of the burst sizes are completely insane.

Yeah. I don’t want to burst 10 bullets out of my… Lets say tec-9 at 3 zombies.

Trigger group would be nice.

Even that is nothing compared to when my character for some reason had several “trigger happy” moments while battling a single monster and blasted about 30 5.56mm rounds in its general direction while hardly hitting it at all.

Never had one of those moments. Lololollololooollol

I would love to see some more WW2 era weapons in the game

M1 Garand - .30 Cal - American infantry rifle (Semi automatic with a mag, You all know the sound. Compared to the german infantry rifle wich is bolt action loaded, but packs a harder punch)

Thompson Submachine gun - 9mm - (Mabye also the big drum magasin?)

MG42 - aka The Nazi Saw - 7.62mm (Perhaps belt feed? like RL)

MP40 - 9mm - German Submachine gun

Luger P08 - 9mm - Legendary German Pistol

Karabiner 98k - ?? - German infantry rifle (Packs harder punch than the Garand, but is bolt action)

Cata is set in the semi-future
And that’s one reason why we’re not adding a catalogue of antique firearms.
So shush.

The 1970s Beretta 93R… semi future right there…

But the FAL and the G3 are in the game.

Plus, I’m fairly sure it’s still in production.

I believe it is, or at least very similar models are.

Sadly the 100% more awesome Robocop version, the AUTO-9, was NEVER in production.

Also, it’s hilarious how old the .45 M1911 is, considering how well it works today. I wonder why so many of the other guns invented between then and now were so crap?

Dunno about trigger group, but I think I could code a gun that had selectable fire-modes (single, 3-round burst, 10-round auto, etc.). Would anyone want a gun like that, and if so are there any requests as to what gun I should base it on?

Plenty of guns have that kind of functionality. It would certainly be nice to have the option.

Aye, i would think it is in production still aswell, thou i am not sure.
The FN FAL is still in service today, mostly given away to third world contrys
G3 comes in a ton of diffrent variants.

Now, .45 M1911 is still in production, and has seen action since, yea. 1911. It’s still around cause it has that .45 stopping power packed in a lovely frame. All these years since it was made, it can still blow the backend of your brains out trough any kevlar helmet…

(I effed up some stuff with DiamondRazor account, but this is the same guy)

Wasn’t talking about the M1911, and yes I know the FAL and G3 are still out there.

Just opened an issue relating to the burst fire thing here. Was asking if it would be possible to have hard-code support for guns with multiple burst modes, as that would make things a lot easier. The only way I can think of to do something like this now would be to add a gun with an iuse entry and menu to swap out the gun’s item for a variant gun with a different burst value which is hacky, redundant, and cluttered.

On the trigger group item, this would also be tough under the current system. While there is code for mods altering a weapon’s burst value, it’s additive; ie. it either adds to or takes away from the current value, it can’t just replace it. So to take a gun with a ten round burst down to three would require a gunmod with a burst modifier of -7, a gun with a fifteen round burst would need one with a value of -12.

How about simply recoding all guns to have shorter bursts that take up less time units?

That way if you want a long burst you just fire off a few short ones for the exact same effect.

It would make the Trigger Happy negative perk a lot less shitty too.

Bursting wouldn’t be really… Good for pistols. How about double tap for pistols?

What’s the problem with pistols having burst mode?

You can already double tap manually.

Just only have certain pistols able to burst. The M93R, that Italian clone of it round in Resident Evil Code Veronica, the HK vp70. These would be 3 round.

The Glock 18C would be full auto. So was a certain type of Mauser pistol.

Some nutcase invented a M1911 stuck to another M1911 so it’s double barreled, so that would fire two shots per trigger pull MINIMUM if we put that in game.

I’m sure there are others.

Actually, there already is a gunmod that adds three round burst to pistols.
Bursting wouldn’t be really… Good for pistols. How about double tap for pistols?
I think the (fairly rare) “auto-fire mechanism” for pistols achieves the same or very similar results.
So was a certain type of Mauser pistol.
From what I know and have heard, the Mauser C-96 and the Luger P.08 could both be modified to fire in full-automatic; the Luger had a 32-round “snail drum” magazine developed and had an 8-inch artillery barrel variant, and the Mauser’s wooden box holster could be attached as a stock and used with a detachable 20-round box magazine.
