What weapons would you like to see in the game?

  1. I hate it when people put scopes of all things on guns pistols. Ugh…

  2. I need this for my ninja operations. And it is now my quest to find a glock ingame and have it exactly like (Without the scope :P) that. Then engrave “Ninja” on it.

Then I realize we need mountable flashlights in game.

Well effectively the flashlight is already mountable since it doesn’t stop you wielding a two handed weapon when used.

Anyway, if you hate scoping guns…

you’ll REALLY hate this.

Looks like we need to increase the cap on how many extra mags you can stick on a gun, eh?

Whoops, I meant scopes on pistols. Sorry :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll just leave this here…

Back on topic.

.410 is a nice and easy to find and handle caliber. I want it! Gotta have my emergency pocket rocket.

Hey man, you go hunt pigs with a revolver, sometimes you will feel yourself wanting a scope. If the guys want to go spend the money, who cares? It’s their gun. It’s like those guys who trick out their trucks with floodlights and tire chains and winches and shit, and never leave the city. Sure, it’s silly, but its not like they’re doing any harm.

A few weapons I’d like:

  • Motorised crossbow. Made from repeating crossbow + electric motor, this baby’s belt fed.
(Draws 3 UPS power per shot, 30 bolt belt, 5 shot bursts)

  • Pneumatic shotgun. The pneumatic weapon for close-range encounters, this weapon is compact and punchy but only holds 3 nail shells and the high-pressure tank requires a lot of pumping (long reload time).
(Nail shell is made from shotgun hull + 8 nails)

  • Flask-driver. Essentially a ‘spud gun’ modified to fire molotov cocktails / acid bombs at high velocity. Made from pipes, spray can + pilot light, requires gasoline as a propellant.

  • Mounted pneumatic assault rifle.
(If I was going all out I’d have a new tank type - ‘air’, which is used up by mounted pneumatic weapons but automatically replenished over time by (running) air compressor components)

  • Chainsword. Rare variant version of the combat chainsaw (same stats, different name.)

  • Thermal lance. Made from pipe + oxygen tank, it is irreversibly activated (ignited) to make a clumsy but very burny melee weapon for a brief time.

I’d also like military-grade firearms to be considerably harder to obtain in general, to encourage mad maxing it up with homemade death machines.

I really like that motorised crossbow idea.

I’ve actually seen a motorised self loading crossbow in use on youtube so it’s completely realistic too.

The “spud gun” and nail shotgun could be combined, too.

I’ve always wondered what would happen if you used a traditional spud gun, as in the giant cannons that shoot a whole potato using a charge of ignited aerosol gas… and loaded it with a bunch of nails.

It would be a lot like being shot with a 40mm flechette round.

Eh, just my opinion.

Plus, I love the air shotgun idea.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tMhThUAl88wI remember seeing this long-barreled scoped revolver with a mini tripod. I think the gun was called a Manurhin.

The Mateba is a really odd gun.

It’s a semi automatic revolver.

Anyway I had an idea for a weapon… Inspired by the super nailgun from Quake 1…

How about having something functionally equivalent? Make it from multiple nail/coilguns, several pipes, a steel chain, and a UPS. It would basically act like a nail minigun, firing a ridiculous amount of weak shots at a single target. Like the American 180.

For added insanity you could even add heating elements to make it shoot red hot nails.

Also, speaking of odd guns, try this for size:

I don’t know what they were thinking when they thought this up.

I WANT A MATEBA NOW

And adding heating elements to anything will make it +20% cooler (Or hotter).

I wouldn’t mind something found deep in military installations, that is just a giant heavy cannon-thing that’d be useful for base-defense when the game gets to the point where you’re holding off big groups attacking your home…

You’d carry this massive thing/drag it to where you want to set it up, (a)pply it and it stands there on its feet immobile. Like a bigger, heavier turret than we have now.

Boom … makes a crater, fries the squares around it, sends things close-by flying a short distance.

Make it slow to “charge” (requires a USP, or even better something rarer like plutonium, or hydrogen), slow to fire, so you can’t just boom the crap out of everything that comes.

Just a fun ‘omg what did I find’ piece of high-tech, higher-tier loot.

Does the game actually get to that point when you used static spawn? I assume that option only affects the zombies, but I don’t know what the exceptions are, or what happens in late game.

More ideas:

Bangstick: Stick + shotgun shell + duct tape. One-shot melee weapon intended for use underwater.
Bolt Thrower: 3x ganz-rustung + large electric motor. Three barrels, no waiting! (Normal PCs won’t actually be able to carry this thing. They should probably mount it to something.)
Depth Charge: Dynamite + pipe. You thrust it into the ground and the shockwave damages burrowing enemies in a large radius and forces them to the surface.
Flying Guillotine: Acts as a thrown weapon with a short maximum range. If you pass a very difficult skill test then the target is decapitated and the weapon returns to your inventory. Otherwise they are unharmed and the guillotine drops to the ground.

Problems with your ideas, Badger:

The bangstick sounds like you’re just… Acutally I have no idea what it does.

The depth charge would only work if you knew the underground enemy was there, and therefore would be next/surfaced by to you by the time you activated it/pushed it into the ground and started running.

Also, 2 of these weapons require z-levels one is completely fictional and the other is okay.

Beep boop, making shit up.
Have a rocket rifle.

It’s a real world weapon, intended for use against sharks. The shotgun shell is on the end of the stick. You shove the shell against the enemy and detonate it.
