I want to thank you for the work done with your tileset. I wanted to ask if there is an option to disable a popup damage messeges on a screen. It does not look very pretty in the Russian version of the game.

I’m not Mshock but I can answer your question: yes, in the options menu. In English, it’s called SCT animations (Scrolling Combat Text), and I think it’s under the Interface or Graphics tabs.
Noticed in a week old experimental in a home improvement store that the purple carpet looks like yellow carpet and the yellow carpet looks like purple. Just figured I’d say something since nothing in the change logs noted it being fixed.
Pre-release string and feature freeze is specifically for the benefit of tileset artists and translators. Feel free to PR updates and sets, just make sure they’re complete.

I shouldn’t be here at all, but I’ll try to update on this weekend.

Yikes. Sorry something put you off being here, and hoping it clears up?

Well, I promised myself to spend all free time on learning c++, instead of this and watching serials. Plus university.
After my break from the game (Skipped the entire 0.A) I returned again (I think I will keep on playing this game intermitently until the end of time :)) and found this official tileset as one of the few supporting 32x32 tiles… After my initial playthroughs I started to recognize some tiles and after opening the .png I found A LOT of the work done by a group I was helping managing back in the day.
If I understand correctly this is also a compilation effort to provide support for those of us wanting to play in 32x32, which I’m glad to collaborate in but, as the tileset I was managing was made by multiple contributors I feel obliged to report them so proper credit is given.
Here is the original thread of the contributors detailing which tiles were made by which person. The original DL links are also active so any1 interested in checking which tiles are affected can do the comparisson themselves. I also keep the original private contribution matrix I used to avoid conflicts between artists.
Keep up the good work, some of us can’t play in less than 32x32 :).

Hi, Raga, yes, first I combined Coleen’s and Blockhead’s for myself, but then I started expanding on my own. Probably should credit you and Deon there.
So, are you going to continue drawing? I’m not going to do this for long, theres only so much I can do. Thanks.

I’m not sure… I just started playing again but I have been reading with attention the changes that affect tileset creators and they look nice. Specially the overlay layers, the “fallback” category (One of the main reassons that “drained my will” on 0.9 was the humongous rate of new tile generation the experimentals shown… With this mechanism in place you can create a “descriptive” tile so at least players can have an idea on what a new item may do in broad terms) and the SCT. But so far I still haven’t felt the “urge” to jump back.

Yeah, ASCII fallbacks (so if there’s no tile, you get the ASCII for it) are a big help and I’m looking forward to folks using the overlays.
As for credits, PR your preferred crediting and we’ll punch it in, no worries.
Hi Mshock. I’m new to Cataclysm and I love it. I started with Coleen’s tiles, and it wasn’t long before I started filling in the missing pieces. Now I’m using this set and doing the same thing. With the recent posts about you losing interest and Ragamer talking about collaborations I was wondering if I could lend you a hand with this. I’m attaching a sample of my work so far. The items are entrenching tool, knit hat, pool ball, hair pin, atm, rag, black box, pea coat, knit scarf, water purifier tablets, dog whistle, radio, and bloody rag.

Wow, those look very neat, I’m glad to include some of this in next update (it will probably be included by time you see this)! Also should credit you somewhere, not really sure where. Thanks.
Mshock, I know you have a lot going on IRL with school and such so I would just like to say a quick thank you for continuing to update your tileset. I have used it exclusively since it has been included in the experimental down loads.
Mshock, I’m glad you liked my tiles and used them. I made more. Most of these are multi-tile objects, and most of those are replacements for existing tiles that I thought could be better. Don’t feel obliged to use anything you don’t prefer. I’m doing this for fun.
