What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Hobo Jack is back!

i had a good start: found traps with crossbow, military crash and dead scientists

i was going to set up in a mine entrance, but i found Jack best friend! my trusted shopping cart!

A zombie surprised me when I was eating, so I used the nearest weapon to hand… the one already in my hand.

Bauss can thrower. B1

So I had strange dreams about animals for a few nights and woke up one morning with High Night Vision. I think I drank too many just the right amount of mutagens.

I just used Rat corpses to kill rats. Somewhere PETA is prepping for war.

So my last character, Octus, accidentally died while chillin with some Z’s at the gas station. I challenged them to a duel: Explosives at close quarters. It ended in tears for everyone.

And… OH JOYOUS DAY!
I started a new game and I now have zombies in my basement. I guess I turned Black Roads on by accident? Is that a reference to something?

Zeds can spawn in any basement (it increases the loot in that basement)

Black Road (to my knowledge) is a nod to the “Black Road” mode in the STALKER Call of Pripyat mod “Misery”

But in STALER it only made the game slightly more difficult, not spawned bloodsuckers up your ass.

…Just successfully killed the rat king by throwing rat corpses at it.

This is too funny.

It is finally complete! It’s no RMCC, but it does account for about a week’s worth of lunch breaks and about two ingame weeks. Never again will suicidal wildlife and zombears invade my beautiful lake!

And if any unfortunate wildlife should happen to spawn inside… well. That’s what the flock of manhacks that I released into the enclosure are for.

Too many favorable Grenades have make me cartoon villain indestructible–Having a high enough strength to pulp zombies through break-dancing also made melee with lit dynamite viable.

Managed to clear my first lab this version. Basement didn’t have anything but a railgun and a few stray bullets for guns I don’t have. I don’t even understand the point of that weapon. At least I got a good amount of power storage and mutagen for some self experimentation later. Also, jeez, it’s like -100 degrees down there, bring a couple dozen layers.

Having finally installed Unbuntu back onto my computer (after experiencing a rather unpleasantly irreversible Windows 7 crash), one of the first things I did was get Cataclysm back onto my computer. With some time finally to myself I decided to return to the RL in grand fashion by cranking up the city size to sixteen. However, I had forgotten about the ‘could not find shelter’ glitch if you set your city size too high. This was okay though since my mindset was of that of the ‘what is the worst that could happen’ kind. And so I spawned into the game right next to a zombie hulk who was kind enough to offer me an welcoming embrace. This was in no doubt my shortest lived character since I have started playing.

How did it crash?

Jack cleared this place 2 times already…

Guess i have to visit the fungal spire and give it some presents: C4s and dynamites!!!

this probably doesn’t count, but I burned to death when I spawned in a shelter that a well meaning NPC had given me a live mininuke in, just one life before.

I keep hearing people talk about “Granade roulette”, are you debugging them in*, or are they spawning somewhere in large enough numbers to do that “legit”?

*I’m not judging you if you are, just curious.

I hope not, as best as I can tell they should be rarer then mininukes, so if they are spawning in large numbers someplace that should probably be fixed. :stuck_out_tongue:

I never see multiple Granades in one place but I do stumble into locations where you find frequently, often mil bunkers or crates. Even one can either ruin you or give a good push on your way to size=1ptgod hood
But sometimes I will debug in a load and set off at once just for fun.

This…

reminded me of this…

My best character lasted just to before the first day of winter. Then the zombies surrounded me in a cafe. As they surrounded me and I was about to die, I pulled the pin on my grenade and exploded, killing a mass of zombies, myself, and leaving a big ol’ hole in the cafe.

Richard Head has survived into his first winter. He spent most of the summer raiding sporting goods stores trying to find a baseball bat so he could upgrade his nail board. 7 stores and no luck but he finally hit the lotto when the 8th one had about 4 bats. All the raiding produced a lot of cbm’s so he’s got some good install’s including a fusion blaster arm(seriously fuckin awesome!!) and one botched bionic that leaks acid on a pretty consistent basis.

Richard also managed to upgrade an RV to cruise around in too, steel plated with a plow on the front, but he caught the flu and was laid out for about 5 days. Most of the time he just slept in between puking and drinking an unbelievable amount of water. Now that he’s feeling better again he raided a nearby prision and is headed towards the local sewage treatment plant.
