More nutty survivor engineering along the lines of the autoshotgun and Louisville slaughterer and similar madness. Like maybe a garage-mad-science lightning gun (just make sure you’re not standing close enough to the target for the bolt to jump back to you). Or a sword that shoots laser beams, because you know some lunatic is going to try it when there’s no longer anyone to tell them “No.” Maybe homemade lasers made with components like those high-quality lenses from eyebots. Or an acid squirt gun.
I was about to bring up how nonsensical it would be for the arc to hit anything besides yourself because you’re the lcosest thing to the weapon, but then i realized Arc Lightninf CBM was a thing…
It really needs to be replaced with an electrolaser…
Hand-made shrapnel rounds for 9mm automatic weapons. I imagine that they would destroy the weapon in short order and be useless beyond a range of about 2 spaces, but still… Or maybe somthing like this would be ideal for expending that pile of P-90s…
NERF gun, which can only use water, and “glass-lined NERF squirter” or something that can charge and shoot acid as well… or purifier.
How about one of these:
If that’s not possible, how about this:

In all seriousness, I think chemical weapons could do with some love (I never thought I’d ever say this something like that. Only in Cataclysm). A chemical bomb might be cool, I’m sure we’ve seen examples in popular media of the classic two-part chemical mix:
If you haven’t seen Die Hard 3 or the Sherlock Holmes film that came out in 2009, you’re missing out.
but I’m struggling to think of much practical use for them since zombies don’t breathe. Chem weapons for the most part would be limited to direct contact or delivery by a glorified tranquilizer gun. Thoughts, people?

How about adding this weapon.
Ding dong tool made by gerber. Sledgehammer+Crowbar.[/quote]
This is also a good idea, as it’s actually sensible. And it has a funny name.
Some chemical weapons are really really nasty. Like seriously bad nasty stuff. I ma pretty sure that they could melt, burst, pop, cremate, or dissolve the inside the zeds. You could even look for corpse-specific armaments. Things that solidify the oozy components of dead flesh maybe? A simple blob of expanding foam could probably permanently disable a skeleton, or anything else that got the stuff inside its joints…
Loads and loads of things that a chemist could do to someone that do not involve breathing…

I think we can already kinda-sorta make that by building an armoured vehicle and slapping turrets on the top. The “survivor version,” at least.
how about a low power laser pistol powered by solar energy?
like, it can only be used when it is sunny, or when its batteries are full, does a bit less damage than a .22 bullet, but never runs out of ammo?

You could do something sort of like this by installing a UPS bionic and solar panels bionic and using your bionic power to power the laser pistol. Alternately, you could mod a UPS to be rechargeable, then recharge it in a solar generator.
The extant laser turrets (not exactly common, I’m afraid) hit about as hard as a 9mm and require sunny/clear weather to function.
i was just saying it would be a cool drop from a science corpse.
and i dont use turrets, far to stationary.

So… Basically a solar-powered LACP laser pistol?
This could possibly be done by adding a “solar powered” modification for electronics that recharges their batteries when it’s sunny.

basically. The mod might be a better idea, like lower output, but theoretically infinite power.

I’d rather see a pistol with infinite ammo and damage output directly linked to how well sunlit it is. Underground? Might as well be shooting puffs of air. Summer’s noon with clear skies? Scorch.

ohh I like this idea.
The problem with a solar battery mod would be that then the player could be using, like, a hundred of the things, presumably by wearing some sort of giant sombrero…
I want this.
If a giant sombrero gets to be added, I want a La Muerte/Xibalba encounter as an easter egg.
Technically it’s a “broken phone” on the Solar Scorcher (which indeed recharges in sunlight instead of being damage-dependent on it), caused by my memories of Fallout 2 being not exactly recent.
Polytrinic Acid, pure Hydroxide, and Chloral Hydrate, all which can be delivered in some kind of glorified tranq gun, in capsules embedded in food, or in a home made smoke/mistingmisting grenade.
