There should be a new disease. Symptoms include:
:dreams of life before the cataclysm and bright lights.
:hearing voices, they will sometimes feature vague pleading for you to do something, or just conversations about normal activities, maybe they will sound like diary entries.
:sometimes you will get confused or have memory issues, perhaps objects are not where you remember them or buildings being built inconsistently.

It can be cured by killing people, things that are similar to people, and by facing the horrors. Also, building a safe home with a healthy stockpile. Basically the symptoms will subside and eventually the disease will be gone as your character becomes more successful.

And you wake up in a hospital bed. It was all a dream…

Remote Makeshift Glock mine: Craft by taking a Glock, putting a remote controlled device on it to pull the trigger when you press a button, and then duct taping nails all around the gun until it’s barely recognizable.
Use it by throwing the entire pistol at your target, or leaving it at a staging area as a mine, and the pressing the detonator. Be sure that you take cover when this happens.

Ball lightning. Rarely spawns from Sparks fields.
Spews sparks randomly around it just by existing though, and wanders around quickly, so if enough are generated at once you might end up with a chain-reaction of ball lightning covering the entire overmap.

Maybe you could have “anomaly” fields. Lightning if you get too close, a whirligig one. Could have nice science gear or something if you can get to the middle. Each thing could have a specific traversal method, usually by something sciency. Wearing really heavy armor or having over weight could prevent you from being thrown around by whirligig. A faraday cage suit would keep from getting shocked.
