Buying a gas stove isn’t difficult, I’d imagine you can get them anywhere they sell kitchen appliances, e.g. Best Buy. They seem to cost a little more, but natural gas is also cheaper. I’m sure some people also like the convenience of a stove that gets hot instantly, and cools instantly when turned off.
Maybe in the future, when natural gas is less abundant and nuclear power plants are more common, gas stoves will be a dying breed. But even then, I’m sure there will still be those who use them purely because they prefer cooking with gas.
As of 2 days ago this was merged into the main dev build, so it should be in the nightly one as well by now.
Is the dev build publically available? I would like to use the flasks of acid ASAP.
It is, but you have to compile it yourself, a basic tutorial for which may be found here. Alternatively you can download the nightly builds from here, in case you don’t want to compile your own.
Also do note that a lot of things right now are stored in hardcoded formats that are liable to break between versions of the game. Thus there is a high chance that save-compatibility will not exist between versions, and thus you will be unable to use old worlds/characters in new versions. We’re working on fixing this problem, but the old dev was fond of using enums through a lot of the game, and thus it is taking quite a while to slowly transition away from them.
Also note that stability, while it usually exists, is not absolutely guaranteed to be present on the latest versions. Thus it’s a good idea to keep a backup present in case the devs miss something and end up merging in a pull request that breaks the game.
Cordless, battery powered, Hot Glue Gun (yes, yes the original is butane powered, sue me)
What does it do?
Enables you to repair items with the plastic flag like mil rucksack, gasmask, raincoat, umbrella, adult entertainment bedroom applliances, etc. Could use a meltdown (pun intended) of the mechanics and tailoring skill as a skill requirement where applicable
Would have “ammo” like a soldering iron in the form of glue gun sticks or homemade plastic residue sticks *craftable from plastic items with a nearby fire and a cooking pot as required tools.
Where to find?
Hardware Store, Garage, Maintenance Rooms, Public Works, Barns, Houses
Locksmith Bag
What does it do?
Allows you to do what currently a Picklock kit does - open locks - but with better uses/durability/inventory cluttering effectiveness
Basically it uses PLK’s as “ammo” with a conversion of 2 times the max failure states of a PLK so 1 picklock kit (currently has 5 failure states…i mean “health” states - correct me if I’m wrong) would become 10 charges in a Locksmith bag. Additionally you get a new recipe under mechanics called Lockpicks that uses scrap metal and needs tools (Pliers + Hammer) to create Lockpicks (10) that can be “loaded” into the Locksmith Bag.
Max Charges 100 and every attempt uses 1 Charge. Weight/Volume could be 4/8
Could be crafted using a purse OR backpack + picklock kit OR Lockpick(10) with Mechanics and Tailoring as skill reqs.
Where to find?
Hardware Store, Military Bunker/Outpost, Special “Unlucky Locksmith Encounter”

Unlucky Locksmith encounter is a dead locksmith in a room that is locked; Loot on his body are a Jumpsuit, Baseball Cap and an empty Locksmith bag
You could create a rain water collection with them, or rather, dig a pit and throw it over for the evaporation still like in the survival guides.
By itself it should function as tent. Should be able to use them to create indoor status on vehicles too, say the whole back of the military cargo truck could be tarped up and waterproofed as such. There are a million uses for tarpaulins.
Maybe you should make bread and lemons “Mold” instead of “Rot”. They have Penicillium mold in real life which is used to make Antibiotics. Maybe like 10 Penicillium mold would be 5 Antibiotics?
That just reminded me that I am allergic to penicillin and cannot use one of the most common antibiotics. Except that penicillin doesn’t get prescribed as much due to overuse anyway, I’d be in a lot of trouble in zombieland.
Let’s observe the teeth of a large dog against an ordinary two-liter plastic bottle.
Observably, plastic would offer us protection from a dog, homeless or otherwise, especially if we were firing live ammunition into said dog. This is without including the harder plastics used in protective sporting gear.

It’s probably been suggested to death, but I would like to see a flare gun. Maybe some other light sources as well. Like a lantern that could be set down and provide light.
I’d like to have a leatherman knife added in. Actually, I’d love more mutli-tools that would be less efficient than specialized tools (Is it possible to make crafting with them take more time?) but take less space in your backpack.
