"Mshock's" tileset (v0.36)

Hey Mshock

Any more updates coming they have added folding seats to cars now whice off course makes them resort back to ascii :frowning:

Sharp rocks are also missing a tile, and hence they revert back to ASCII as well.

I heard that Mshock is busy with school, but I hope he will find the time to update this awesome tileset.

Maybe someone else can add the missing stuff, if Mshock cannot do it… :slight_smile:

Hmm. Since I offered up a modded version of your tileset to account for my mod’s content, which has since been merged…now what?

Since my offshoot of it is now out-of-date concerning other experimental content, I dunno whether to simply leave mine out-of-date, add my content to the latest version of the tileset, offer my additions to yours instead, or what.

In retrospect I feel like I should’ve asked for your advice to begin with before adding an edited tileset to my PR, though KA101 gave the okay to including it in addition to the mod. ^^"

I always use this tileset and love it but was wondering if you would also make a 32x version pretty please when ever you update if so thank you very much :slight_smile:

Also pondering an ambitious idea. Should I add tiles to mine for other official mod content? I can imagine that if I did so, trying to sprite up the dino mod is gonna be Fun. =w=

EDIT: Augh, I just realized what a clusterfuck it’ll be to re-edit all those sprites in 32x32, as resizing the 24x24 version looks several hundred different kinds of awful.

And yeah Mshock seems to be away a lot these days (achool?) so would be epic to get updates on this epic tile set I cant really speak for him but I dont think he would mind? CDDA comunity seems to be a very mature kind place so every one helps each other out :slight_smile:

And yeah, so far I’m having a hilarious time trying to recall which of Mshock’s tiles I used as the edit base for which of the sprites I cooked up, so unsure about recreating this in 32x32.

And I blame all of this lunacy on the fact that the lean-to terrain had some transparency issues. >w>

I am at least working on updating the 24x24 tileset again, since I PR’d an update to More Survival Tools. After that I’ll likely cease stealing from MShock’s version. o3o

I might use that opportunity to add sprites for a few non-mod things the tileset currently lacks, like fetlock furs and such. O.o

so lets say i take your 24 tileset can i photoshop it to rescale into 32 or does it look terrible rescaling?

Not sure if it’ll look better in Photoshop, but I can confirm it looks awful when sized up in GIMP. o3o

Thing is that it looks like MShock did the 32x32 version the manly way, as it appears to use the same size pixels as the 24x24 version. So a pure resize kinda looks off compared to the other sprites, to me at least. O.o

Its a damn shame ya cant just resize it to the 32X32 version mate, id love to see the new sprites but i cant stand how tiny 24X24 is on my 1600X900 resolution, and since this hasent been updated in a few months it seems like i guess i might have to look into alternatives :frowning:

As I saw you note in one of your videos. I have started slowly working on spriting that up, though it’s been slowed by my not remembering exactly how I derived a lot of said sprites. @_@

EDIT: And totally unrelated, that thing you found that one time is a hatchet that’s in the game already, not a More Survival Tools item. That’s a stone hand axe you’re thinking of. XP

EDIT: Huh. During the course of my continued mucking about with the 32x32 tileset, I found that the only apparent resize that’s been done, at least from what I’d found, was with the fur-pelt-shaped groundcloth tile. :V
