High-tech weapon mods

With Heckler and Koch developing railguns, Rivtech on the bleeding edge of munitions and even a few fusion/laser weapons to be found I’ve always thought it a bit odd that the various sights and add-ons haven’t kept pace. Hopefully a few of these suggestions are nearly half as good as I think they are.

Kinetic Accelerator - A pseudo-railgun this bulky armature draws off a UPS to further accelerate outgoing rounds, significantly extending a weapon’s range and stopping power.

Lethal Laser Sight - Smaller sibling to the v29 this rail mounted laser adds ease to target acquisition and sears anything unfortunate enough to end up in your sights. Powered by UPS.

Charge Rifle Conversion - Parred down from the deadly NX-17 this experimental attachment should allow a conventional laser weapon to overcharge, amplifying the potency of its beam. Powered by UPS.

Predictive Sight - More analytical computer than scope proper this high tech gizmo measures everything from windspeed to relative humidity to overlay each bullet’s most probable path. Profoundly increases accuracy. Powered by UPS.

Tactical Taser - A non-lethal adaptation of the bayonette this impact resistant, pressure sensitive stungun was so synonymous with law enforcement pre-cataclysm as to earn the moniker of ‘dance machine’. Consumes batteries.

Insertion System - This combination rappel line and non-penetrative anchor turns the underbarrel of almost any firearm into a rapid deployment system perfect for urban warfare. The included lanyard and motorized winch make it practically fool-proof. ((acts like a grappling hook, consumes batteries))

Beam Splitter - A muzzle adapter that can be fitted to most laser weaponry, its multifaceted interior separates any beam that passes through it. ((Reduces range but essentially turns a laser into a shotgun))

Cold Fusion Inductor - Integrated directly into the magazine well of any fusion rifle this high tech assemblage recycles superheated exhaust into a moisture annihilating pellet of condensed steam that impacts just before the real payload. The net gain of this complex process being a flash freeze followed by destructive thaw rather than a raging inferno.

…Part of me wants to ask about using artifacts to make weapon mods…

Because that’d be amusing… …and totally not ripping anything at all off nopenopstalkernopnopnope…

“you attach your warm band to your katana”

“lightning and flame engulf your sword”

“lightning and flame engulf you!”

“you attach your Heavy Sword of Undying Shadow to your Sword of Fungal Death”

“why did you do this”

I like this one. Like the CBM, except on the gun, which makes more sense because it knows how is the gun aligned rather than predicting it based on user’s hands. Could even link itself with the bionic for some extra accuracy.

I don’t like those, because they’re too much sci-fi logic.

Laser works because it heats up one spot. More spots to heat up = less heat per spot = just pain instead of damage.

Overcharging a laser weapon that is built for lower power would probably work like trying to fire a .50 BMG from a 9mm Glock.

Cold Fusion Inductor is pure sci-fi logic. Not even hard sci-fi at that - pure fantasy at this point.

This one could be good or bad depending on the idea. Good if it’s supposed to be a laser pistol that also can power down a bit and double as a laser sight. Bad if it’s supposed to be a laser sight so powerful it burns stuff before you pull the trigger.

Congrats, you attracted the russian spam bot mafia.
