That is the most appropriate response to Bears.
I feel better about the cougar mauling that followed my dairy spree.

I once used a throw away character that I got extremely high on coke with, collected a large pile of LAWs, and killed EVERYTHING
I am still laughing at the fact I originally was gonna draw him with a milk bag holder.
Speaking of imbibing various liquids.
I actually had an NPC run up to me WHILE I WAS ASLEEP, tell me to drop my weapon, and run away terrified.
Yes, random thug. You will definitely stop me with your medieval pike while I drive at 60 kilometers per hour straight for you in a truck.
This is a deathmobile. All craftsmanship is of the highest quality. It menaces with spikes of steel.

The HOOOOOOOOOOONK makes it. Nice. That said, if the random thug actually knew how to brace the pike, xe could probably do some damage to the semi, but would probably still get killed in the bargain.
Yeah, a semi isnât a horse. The most he could do, even if he was a trained pikeman, would be to pop a tire. But either way thereâs still x-amount of tons of semi coming his direction.

Love it. I can imagine them doing this too, very easily.
Isnât it weird, that a fingertip sized piece of lead is a bigger threat nowadays, than huge pieces of iron and steel, that people used to win wars with?
Weâve also got even BIGGER pieces of steel that are an even BIGGER threat though, so I think weâre good.
And arrowheads, traditionally one of the most dangerous items in the world, were pretty much fingertip sized bits of lead (well, not lead exactly, but something like it).
You can kill someone just as easily with a sword today as you could 1000 years ago.
More easily. People today donât wear armor and tend to have little ability to defend themselves.
Best defense is to stay friendly with everyone and keep out of the trouble. Youâll be safer that way.
Or to have the biggest, scariest gun in all the land so you can force people to be friendly with you!
Cold War logic to the rescue!
Thatâs not working so well for me. Everyone I meet pops adderall and runs away screaming.
Too much work this week, but Canada day is free.
If I donât wind up with plans to leave my house and watch huge tax-funded explosions, Iâll be at home, probably drunk, and within plausible arting distance of my tablet laptop.
No promises, I donât trust drunk me to get what I expect done. Heâs a good worker, he just likes to be a bit of a dick and pick the right priorities instead of the funnest ones first.
Except if that someone is holding even just a tiny-little .22⊠And I canât see most people even lifting a sword, not to mention using it proficiently.

Unless youâre facing someone who holds talent with a sword as well, I donât see driving a piece of steel into a the average manâs flesh needing too much skill or finesse.

Fun fact, police and military personnel are actually taught that, in a closed room or at close range, a knife is a larger threat than a firearm. You donât have to draw or aim (much) a CQC weapon.
Also, most swords, including claymores, donât weigh more than 5 to 7lbs MAX. They are rather easy to swing around if you have any experience to speak of. Now, using it proficiently⊠well, thatâd only really come into play if it came down to a melee battle. You donât really need to know what you are doing to hack away at someone.
