I love stories like this. It’s funny how often people just dismiss stuff like the gizmos you can craft with scrap electronics and basic tools in cata, but electronics are a lot more resilient and flexible than people give them credit for. I once spent six months using a motherboard that had been lightly toasted by a power surge. Only problems I had until it failed entirely were some occasional graphics glitches and usb recognition issues. Also recently fixed a broken sensor button on one of my wacom pens by taking it apart, cleaning and reseating the metal diaphragm, and taping the cover back in place.

Well, my dad know about electronics, he normally builds his own amplifiers for music and he know about music too, guitar / piano and singing. He tell me a lot of times if possible to save an electronic apparatus if its off, without energy, for avoid short circuits, and if it complete dry of any humidity when you start it, you can save it and make it work again like nothing happened to it.

Yes you totally can salvage electronics but somethings it give a lot of troubles and is more practical just buying a new one. If you have the idea, tools and knowledge to fix it yourself. Is better you get a new gizmo.

Ah and about my autie´s pc was an pretty old one (Win 98 times), and helps using and ventilator for help it goes totally dry.

Using the functional parts. The former was only done once by unbending the pins on a cpu and somehow worked…for while.

Umm…I just encountered a Survivor emcampment, filled with npcs. I think maybe the spawn rate is a bit high, this is from just 5 lockers, I actually took out several of the gunsmith kits already and the ammo in my inventory came from a couple of the other lockers in the same room:

I upped the defenses on the encampments since they do have a lot of loot. You are just supposed to take what you need. You are not going to take all of it. But, I supposed I will look into the spawn rates too see whats up.
