I can’t wait to find one of the new camps. Slight spell check though, emcampment is spelled with an ‘n’, ‘encampment’.
I realized that as soon as I updated the info when the camps were created. But when it comes to names of items and such in mods, I leave them be, it adds a charm to them imo. Now, other spelling mistakes in non-names are fixed as soon as I stop them.
Cool beans. I’m for bed, it’s hard to stay awake with no computer distraction. I sure hope my power supply is ok when it dries out.
Pwhen your psu dries?
What on earth did u do spill some thing over your pc?
The power went out, causing the sump pump to stop working and then the basement flooded. My pc sat in an inch of water for 6 hours before someone bothered to inform me that the power was out. The psu was the only thing that the water was high enough to reach. I’m going to give it another day of fan time and try my luck.
Sorry to hear about that, but glad it wasn’t worse for you malkeus. Would have been terrible if you lost data. Is the power going out a known problem that was still neglected to be mentioned?
We had some ice storms here. Everything was good when I left in the morning, but the power went out a few hours after I left and none of my roommates thought to call me until about 6pm, when one of them asked me to pick up some batteries and candles, since the power was out and it was dark and oh btw the basement flooded could you bring a shop vac from work?..They’d been sitting there all day cooking smores on the gas stove. I just hung up the phone and started banging my head on the steering wheel.
It could be saved, if is totally dry. Time ago a auntie´s PC was under a flood than instantly enters the house.
When she ask me if it was going to work, opened it, clean it, mud, stones, sticks, leaves were inside the case. Wait for 2 days, and was like nothing happened.
XD Ouch. I assume feats of thoughtlessness happens on a regular basis then, if not that particular one.
Edit. Oh thats good to hear.
I bit the bullet and plugged it back in. Pc posted just fine, no sparks or mystic smoke to be seen. I’m choosing to look at this mess as an opportunity to get rid of a bunch of things i don’t use much. My room will be Spartan by the time I’m done purging. I think I’m going to have to pull out the floor in there though, it had laminate plywood used to level it for the vinyl flooring, and now everything is all warped and I’m sure it’s still damp and will always be damp
Spartan with posters maybe? That could actually be a decent look. Is it bare cement walls/under the vinyl-laminate flooring? Doesn’t sound like it, but that is how I keep picturing it in my head anyways XD. Guess its that quiz word “basement” gives me a preconceived notion it has no right to.
Yup, bare concrete under the flooring. The walls are drywall, so that’s a plus. And a minus, i may need to cut the bottom of the sheets off n replace them. All in all a big ole shit sandwich with piss sauce.
That reminds me of one time the whole neighborhood flooded and a bunch of stuff was lost…
We are pretty fortunate here, there’s no major flooding like those poor bastards down in southern Illinois and Missouri are dealing with. I’ve only lost a few pieces of furniture and other inconsequential stuff, and some time.
Texas already had its flooding ordeal. Luckily We live more up on the shale and didn’t get flooded.
I live close to the coast of texas so flooding is expected…
We had some highways and stuff underwater for a while if I understand correctly.
Surprisingly, we have had good weather where I am at, only one flooding but that was a clogged sewage drain.

I love stories like this. It’s funny how often people just dismiss stuff like the gizmos you can craft with scrap electronics and basic tools in cata, but electronics are a lot more resilient and flexible than people give them credit for. I once spent six months using a motherboard that had been lightly toasted by a power surge. Only problems I had until it failed entirely were some occasional graphics glitches and usb recognition issues. Also recently fixed a broken sensor button on one of my wacom pens by taking it apart, cleaning and reseating the metal diaphragm, and taping the cover back in place.
In my computer support class, we are learning how to use old scrap electronics to fix parts and build computers from broken ones.
