okie dokie. It is difficult to pin down. A good example is when I fire a shotgun a few times, my guy goes def sometimes. Basically what I’m seeing is guns that peak at noise levels of 197 or there about.

I should have tested without mods, but I kinda forgot…not able to test anything on a public machine at the moment =/

Well one, you’re firing a shotgun. The shotgun has a higher sound value than the M16 or AK. So your gonna go def faster with one.

Either that or your character has good hearing which makes sounds higher in volume and makes you go def faster.

People like me who have sensitive hearing go def faster than you “normal people”

True, but people still wouldn’t go def from using a gun. Cannon, sure thing. Standard firearms, no. All soldiers would be def if that were true. But most only lose minor amounts.

Obvious question, are you instantly going deaf, of just having ears ringing and such? If it’s going straight to full deafness that’s a sign that your build of the experimental version might be waaay out of date. o3o

The first stages of hearing damage in the latest experimentals are minor, you should be able to afford a couple shots before it escalates.

Just be lucky that it can’t ever be permanent like in real life, from chronic exposure.

I’m pretty sure there’s no permanent deafness in game. Honestly, I’d be deaf if I fired guns like I did in cata (no hearing protection, firing large guns inside buildings, firing full automatic)…

For sure. I remember a scene in Terminator 2 where they were firing a shotgun and pistol at the terminator on top of the elevator and all I could think was “dude those three are never going to be able to hear again”

There seems to be a conflict between your mod and AKnifeInTheDark’s Guns/Equipment/Mods Expansion Mode. 9x39 is duplicated and it makes the pink text of horror

That’s why i’m creating a patch for AKnifeInTheDark’s mod. I’ve been sick for the entire weekend so I couldn’t work on it. But it’s almost done and might come out this week. I’m not sure.

But yes, patch coming soon. And after I get better from the disease I picked up I’ll start working on it.

Sorry to hear you aren’t well, I hope you get better soon. You may want to hold off a bit on any major work on magazines, it looks like mugling is finishing up implementing them in a usable fashion. I tried making a patched version of w_nguns.json, renaming his 9x39 ammo to 9x39_Ts (short for TsNIITochMash). Then I realized you both had vss vintorez and each used different versions of 9x39 with the same display name and I threw my hands up and walked away. At least the pink text went away…

Then #14709 landed and now I’m updating ALL the mods from the forums that added monsters, they are all busted atm. I want to PR some of the abandoned projects if only so they might get fixed along with the rest of the game when major changes like this happen… There’s good content languishing in the forums for lack of maintenance.

The patch for AKnifeInTheDark’s mod and mine has been finished.

We both worked on it (He did work on it more though because I was sick DX) and finally got it out for you guys to enjoy!
