So, for the record, the repeater crossbow is kind of amazing. I just took out the entire local FEMA camp with it including zombie husks, a necromancer, zombie master, zombie soldiers, and a hulk.
And found a pile of guns and the EMAS system.

Been a couple months since I last played, but my last playthrough used a broadsword (with fencing style) and whatever rifle had the most ammo handy. They got the job done pretty well, though I also had a cardoor full of molotovs because sometimes you just need to set a lot of fires very quickly (Looking at you, fungus-related sites).
Cardoor full?
A storage rack on a driver’s door or something?
Yeah, the 150 storage on a heavy duty hatch.
IRL doors have some place to store something in them like newspaper or pistol and snackbars (something maybe about 30 volume IRL)
and when i look at tanks they commonly have tools atached on armor everywhere so maybe survivor add “hooks” for tools too?

Well, and maybe this is just me. But I feel like if I found myself in an apocalypse situation, I would revert to my redneck heritage and find myself welding/and or duct tape pocketing ALL THE PLACES to be able to hold anything I felt I might suddenly need in a hurry while working on, under, over, or inside of.
The stereotypical gun mounted across the back window would likely be one of the first, along with rifle holsters along the door in such a manner I could whip it out as quickly as possible without banging it into ALL THE THINGS in the vehicle in the process.
I think ALL clothes I figured out how to make in the apocalypse would be made with the assumption I would be wearing them with a gun-belt, hidden blades/ other essentials from leather-man to canteens clipped in a manner that was both quiet and allowed me to slide, climb, and crawl without second thought or random items jabbing me in the hips/ or anywhere else. As a self designated monkey this would be high priority.
