What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

good luck keeping that ammo around.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I just finished my first year in 0.9, I celebrated Christmas at the humble gas station I call home. I cooked meat stew for breakfast and had bacon with fruit pie with long island ice tea and wild apple to drink. I got sloshed and decided to do a gift exchange with the zombies at the local military outpost. They gave me eight military cards, two drop leg pouches, and a kevlar vest, and I gave them all the ingredients they need to make eggnog. It was a fun day.

Good job, man!

Now try to beat three years.

I am now have at my disposal: 88 marloss berries, probability travel, implanted night vision, sonic resonance, time dilation, chain lightning, and a darkness generator…

I am a bionic god! I think things, and they happen. Fear me!

pushes over

You guys remember that in my birthday i said i was going to make a character to tell his tale? Well, i’ve been playing with Kyle Jones 15-30 minutes a day (i’m afraid of dying :frowning: ) and he has a promising future ahead of him.

I set town size to 8, started in the middle of a field, with a town to the east. Reaching the city i started looting for any useful item in houses first (luckily it had a suburb to the west), found a basement in one of those, after killing 2 zombies i found a lot of ammo, guns, and a katana. I started to move towards the center of the city, it wasn’t as big as i thought and the trip was uneventful, even though i have classic zombies off i only had to fight like, 50 normal zombies (including kids…), 6-7 boomers, 3-4 skeletons and a spitter zombie.
I managed to clear the center of this city, and find a nice little house to the south of it (which i made my base), it had a basement, more ammo and more guns for me.
Then i discovered that to the northwest of this little city (using the map) there is a GIANT city, complete with subways and sewers, which i’m planning on raiding.
For now i’m just reading a lot of books (the little city had a library), hunting and looting what’s left in the little city before i siege the big one with a RV i found right in front of a house. Oh, and i cleaned the city using only my katana, which means i have plenty of ammo left to clean the big city.

My alter ego killed a spitter on day 2, by throwing rocks and heavy sticks at it.

Realized that survivor suits aren’t worth the effort and then committed suicide. Yup.

Got rudely interrupted by a bear who wanted my bone broth. Killed it, ended up being able to obtain more bone broth from its corpse after I butchered it. I’m getting the hang of this cooking thing at least!

That was emotional, I loved that car. ;_;

Under the influence of the Sabaton songs I built an ultimate car.
What happens next?
Well, with Sabaton still playing I decided to have a joyride through the city and, well, got shot by the NPC on the 200 mph.

That’s one hell of a shot.

My fast food clerk is currently living in a Cathedral I cleared out. I used a combination of scrub fires, a hammer, and a pointy stick to kill all the zombies. Since then I’ve cleaned out all the surrounding buildings and burned them to the ground, razing the area around me to clear it. I’ve dug some pits and put nailboards and bear traps down around the cathedral, and started gathering a hoard of items for crafting in the basement. Twenty five days later I have been making mutagens, and am now a slit-nosed, quick, disease resistant albino who dislikes sunlight, so I’ve reversed by schedule and sleep through the days and go out at night. My character has low strength so the zweihander I found always gets ripped out of my hands whenever I slice a zombie with it. I do however have a fully gassed up chainsaw, a shotgun, a laser-sighted SKS and a Glock 19. When I need water I either fill up from toilets of drive down to a river I found, and fill up to boil later. I’m digging in for the long haul, and plan to spend several years in my spooky cathedral base.

What’s the problem with them? I generally wear nothing but survivor suits once I have the materials and skill required to produce them.

I have to agree with Rivet, they’re very much worth the trouble.

A combination of
-Being able to get similar volumes without encumbrance with normal clothes
-The fact that they get damaged almost in every encounter
-The fact they are often destroyed in encounters with multiple enemies
-The fact that you need to sacrifice a sturdy and otherwise perfectly functional Kevlar vest
-They are expensive to repair

Does it for me, and well also Rp reasons (i literally dress like the guy i draw every time I play)

… Those… are all valid points… …They still remind me of the Sunrise suit in STALKER though so I think I’ll continue using em rather than start dressing like Ekarus… though that could be equally as intresting…

What are you guys talking about…? I find that the suits are very desirable, and kevlar vests are easy to come by for me.

Also, the light survivor suit has the most storage, last time I checked.

Just had my first run in with triffids, spent an entire day fighting them. I have to say, they are quite fun to fight. I may keep their grove around just so I have an easy supply of rope.

I guess I’ll also throw in my two cents…

Once you refit the light survivor suit you get a backpack with 0 encumbrance, totally awesome for melee builds.

This has always been an issue with armor.

That’s why I just turned in a PR to fix it.
