I finally decided to give mutagens another try, making sure to take the robust genetics trait in the process. I spent my first day or so travelling the roads in search for scientist corpses and for that quest I was very successful. Is it me or do they spawn a lot now? Anyway I managed to scavenge up around ten mutagens (lucky me), being able to find up to three on the pile of corpses each time. I took the dive forward and drank every last one of them before looking to see what it ended up giving me and well:
Extremely Dexterous
Extremely Perceptive
Fast Metabolism
Insanely Smart
Minor Radioactivity
Nausea
Radiogenic
Sleek Scales
Spines
Very Beautiful
Very Strong
Weakening
Now that I think about it, maybe I found a couple more than ten. In any event I think I am very happy with the results. I was half expecting to end up with wings or horns or hoofs or something. Something tells me that I will never get this lucky again and I doubt that I will drink any more to chance it. Now, watch me muck this all up by dying in some stupid manner such as in demand these days in C: DDA.
I just accidentally learned that you can put a knife in your boot by [a]ctivating the boot. +5 badassery
EDIT: I also just raided a prison. I was hoping for ammunition, but at least I’m walking away with a tactical full helmet and two layers of jumpsuit (fits). Eight armor on arms, torso and legs for 0 encumbrance? Yes please.

Looks like you lucked into an Alpha/Elf-a blend, with Spines, Sleek Scales, and Insanely Smart beating categories. Only thing I would want to Purify would be the Minor Radioactivity. Well done!
Cleared out a small (7 houses, 1 parking lot and 1 park) town in static mode. Killed around 200 zombies with very few specials, not a single hulk, Used a few LAW’s, 40mm grenades and pretty much all my ammo to accomplish this(Group of 8 dead soldiers right next to the shelter). Was planning to turn the entire area into a safezone-village-thing. For the rest of the day I butchered all the zombies, boarded up one of the houses and went to sleep.
I woke up, went outside only to see the entire town covered in blobs, hundreds of blobs. I didn’t see any goo anywhere, must’ve missed it, same with the original blob.
I died shortly afterwards. Was my best run so far on static, 4 days.
Well the minor radioactivity actually went good with the trait that let me heal from radiation. But I stopped playing that character as the world that was generated was extremely bland and boring.
If you don’t pop an iodine tablet every day or two you’ll end up with more mutations anyway, from the radioactivity.
I know you can change spawn rates and toggle Black Road on an active world. I’m not sure if you can change city density on an active world and then drive off and discover your new cities or not, though.
Me, a dog, and a shopping cart. Found a Lab, left the shopping cart outside and behind my dog we ventured further. With some strange voodoo inside my dog turned into a blob, good thing he still have his brain intact and keeps following me around. Minutes later, my dog or should I say “blob”, got mysteriously zapped probably by a dissector or something. Bye-bye 1 hour friend. It looks like just me and the shopping cart then.
I have a problem with befriending an animal that was trying to eat me a minute earlier, so I tend to eat dogs, rather than feeding them…
I did have a cat for a few seconds once. It ran off immediatly to attack the nearest zombear, and was promptly killed. I also tried to have a flock of manhacks inside my enclosure, but they all tesseracted over the wall while I wasn’t looking. At least Bill will never leave me T.T
Bill and I drove into a new town and found an NPC blasting away at the tide of zombies with her .45. I got out of Bill and helped her kill them all with my assault rifle, then I tried to talk to her to see if she wanted to trade anything. She decided that she would rather be a jerk to the person who had just saved her life, so she told me to and leave before she killed me. Then she opened fire while we were leaving anyway, hurting Bill’s armor. That bitch
She even chased me down and tried to kill me, but she wasted all her ammunition on the wall of the building I was in so she wasn’t really a threat. I tried to just leave, but she was too fast for me to get away. I had to kick her ass. Game-wise she’s dead, but I’m going to assume I just knocked her out, since I didn’t use any weapons for it. I left her in a field a good distance from town, with her clothes and gun. She had a holy relic (!) and some .50bmg ammunition which are now mine.
I finally found another Wired Reflexes module. I’ve seen a grand total of two of them in 182 days of character-alive-ness, and botched the first one’s install. Not so, this one! Now I have the full set of +2 stat modules!
EDIT: … and then promptly found another one, not five minutes of gaming time and less than an hour of ingame time later. RNG Gods, why?
Started a new purist run, going well so far, barely survived a bunch of ZDogs in a nearby town found a bunch of dead gangsters with a katana and a bunch of cocaine, and a gas station far outside a town with a broken down RV outside(has a working kitchen unit).
Started a new game on 0.9 Ma in addition to the two already running (one ported over from 0.8 and the other being a debug new mutations test).
This time, I am playing myself (see here), minus skills since the game decided I’ve used up the default points.
Let’s see how long I do survive…
So much cocaine, i’m finding cocaine everywhere, My char is becoming a cocaine snorting, cigarette smoking, wine drinking, samurai of the (post) apocalypse.
