What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Does one now simply examine a CVD machine and can make diamond weapon if he has skill and hydrogen? That’s good. Maybe Lab Journal Gustav should have non-stick frying pan recipe after all.

What happens to Apis? Now she is quite passive, and easily gives up chasing and heads back to her room where she walks around smashing scarred zombie corpse. I can no longer invite her to the town for zombie stabbing.

Yeah, just examine the machine and select the cutting weapon.

Unfortunately, only cutting weapons can be diamond-coated now. Diamond rapiers can’t be made anymore, since that uses piercing damage.

On one hand, diamond-coated chainsaws and firebrands. On the other hand, no diamond awl pike.

Diamond fire axe! Does diamond weapon still break? Hydrogen is so scarce that diamond weapon is probably reserved for ceremonial occasion.

Even when diamond coated, I recall that they can be repaired like normal.

Also, the game seems to be trolling me somewhat. Getting a fair amount of railgun magazines and ammo (far more than .454 or .700 ammo, even), yet so far no railgun.

Spawned in as a juvenile delinquent. Grabbed as many essential books as I could, as zombies were pouring into the library within seconds. Managed to get off with knife fighters notes, wrestling techniques, dance book, etc. Tried to recruit the NPC but it was a jabberwock quest giver, so I used him as bait. That mosin will be missed.

Anyway, hiked toward town and entered the first house to gather supplies. On the way I found dead soldiers, one miraculously holding a winter army jacket that fit me.

Killed a few stragglers, relatively easy to kill by kiting them into windows and bashing them with 2x4’s

An ambulance outside my temporary hideout provided with some oxycodone (This’ll be important) and had a fire engine next to it, which I promptly took a shovel and fireaxe from. Then, I raided the antique store that was right next to my house.

Antique store had a sword bayonet, which i immediately equipped in favor of my fireaxe, and the display case in all RNG’s glory had a real katana.

After I read all the books and refitted some clothing that I had found/am wearing I entered a window on the right side of a house, opened the bedroom door to look in the main hallway and was greeted by a shocker zombie who wrecked my health and skyrocketed my pain. I took some pain killers after I darted out the window and went around to the front of the house to lock the zombie in.

After that I decided to cut my losses and ditch the area I was in and run to a cathedral, where i’m currently staying in.

Welp time to check the jsons to see if I can add piercing damage to valid weapons.

I think adding piercing weapons to be able to diamond coat is a must.

Doesn’t make much sense, since the lore said you can apply it to a frying pan, you should be able to stick it onto a rapier or spear.

Actually for lore I wonder what the labs actually used the cvd machine for?

Well here’s a first. Lockers in the garage actually has some stuff in it.

Non-stick frying pans apparently.

The journal sounded more like a guys personal project. Either that or the company was going to sell non stick pans for additional funding.

Hmm. Found an ant hill.

Was pondering if the map gen for these places have been fixed, so I tried to go down… however, seems like there’s a rift underneath.

On the other hand, there’s a strange temple nearby, so I used a petrified eye to go down. As it turns out, the anthill and temple have connected to each other, and so far the anthill no longer looks insane. Rooms are actually connected, for one thing.

Need to dig down once I finish, since there’s no stairs leading further down to the temple.

Does anyone know how to use the scroll bar thing or whatever when examining an item or monster?

pg up and pg down. For macs Fn ^ and Fn V (arrow keys) also works. PC might do ctrl arrow keys or something.

What do you mean PC, was the first one for linux?

macs and Pc’s

Either way pg up and down work. Thank you.

Found a M320 GLM; a non-homemade grenade launcher that actually is accurate, unlike the crafted tube grenade launcher. As I ponder that this should actually make launching grenade ammo from a rifle actually bearable, I then realize that I could have just disassembled several of the M320 stand alone launchers to get one of these mods. Heh heh, whoops.

Lately, and I’ve noticed this in large office towers, not sure if it happens in other buildings with a second floor, it seems that setting that place on fire causes a crash.

When I first noticed it, it was an attempt to torch an office tower, then waiting around. Game crashed in the middle of it.

Now, rather frustratingly, I was in the middle of clearing an office tower. Pretty much cleared the first floor. Basement next. In the middle of fighting the undead on the basement, I noticed something alarming in the message log: there’s an NPC, and a molotov was lit.

Checking upstairs, I see that the building is on fire. Okay, so I make my survivor stay in the basement and wait the fire out. If needed I’ll use the sonic resonator bionic to dig a tunnel if the fire spreads on the basement.

That’s when the game crashed. Arg. Was just starting to clear the office tower when I saved.

What were you burning and office tower for?
