I could have sworn the mythbusters proved that a detonating round wouldn’t be THAT lethal. Unless maybe it was a 50 cal or something cooking of since those are about the size of a hand grenade.
Landmines can be ridiculously fatal sometimes. As I recall, it can even tear damage through power armor. Kinda makes sense, I suppose, since it can rip out car wheels with ease.
That is actually an odd thing I have literally drove over minefields in a souped up RV and never set of a landmine. The times that they did go off was mainly when an undead was trying to catch me in said RV. Also so burying traps like bear traps and landmines is mainly to counter npcs not zeds correct?
Wait I just though of something. Normally in terms of normal gameplay we either opt for a permanent base or a mobile base, or at least thats what I normally do. With each having its own pros and cons mainly that mobile bases is you taking your base directly to the loot while a permanent base has the ability to both farm and produce ludicrous amounts of alcohol with said farming. However I just though while we currently do not have the ability to have vehicle mounted growing plots or fermenting vats I just thought that if you know its going to take you a WHILE to loot a city or somehow similarly sized area why not set plant some crops or build and fill some fermenting vats and have them do there thing while you search the city for its loot.
So this is most likely a bug. Those glass display cases in museums and antique stores, yeah? You can’t get the content out without breaking the case.
On the other hand, you can place items there without breaking the case: just throw them into the glass case and they’ll be magically sealed inside. Even corpses, though sadly they get out without breaking it when they revive.
I reckon I can use this. Construct a museum on the town I’m building, which was something I had planned a while back, though now I can drag some glass cases there and put items on display.
why choose mobile or stationary base? i have both, one mobile what is my FOB where i can heal, rest ,repair and rearm in the field and stationary base what is mostly used by me as warehouse, farm and a workshop because i do not need to have all crafting tools on the road
Yeah. Likewise for me. Unless I go all out and make a car where the cargo space is all cargo dimensions, there’s not enough room at all to put all the loot I nab.

All the storage furnitures have this problem, including vending machines.
I will admit it is kinda hard to have all your loot on the road since cargo carriers have been effectively double nerfed.

Yeah. Figured out how to load things in vending machines.
Gonna be honest. I’ll be having fun with that one.
Yeah, ammo cooking off is crazy stupid ridiculous dangerous, FAR more dangerous than simply having them shot at you… which is just silly.
“I have this gun, made for shooting these bullets at you, but instead, I’m going to drop the bullets in a fire near you, as that’s actually much more effective than this firearm, the result of hundreds of years of massive amounts of human ingenuity, understanding, and even necessity for warfare.”
:-/
You forget that ammo cooking off is a combination of cooking and warfare, so by all means doing it should make MREs.
I make a mobile base because permanent ones get boring, and I never have the endurance to do chores with fermenting or farming because sitting around is not my playstyle.
For me, it’s 10x more enjoyable to soup up a car and go exploring.
I usually start with the evac shelter and build it into the base shape that I like and when possible build a larger armored rv to roll around looting stuff to bring back to the base.
My main issue is eventually the loot gets so far away that I would decide you know what this is dumb.
Also question if you gun is loaded with damaged billets does the chance for jamming increase?
I like the public works as a base, haven’t seen one in a while though.
Too something like 35 days to get my deathmobile in working order. A lot of those days where scavenging, basic survival, and tailoring to gear up for attacking the regional school for books. Probably 20 were actually working on the vehicle. Meanwhile more and more Npc’s are arriving. I’m up to two I have around to help and 6 at base. Though I have emptied out the Evac shelter and am in town to perfect my deathmobile, first on the radar is some drum rollers off a steam roller, then more solar panels and hopefully I’ll level up soon and be able to get a second engine in. I will come back for the Npc’s once I choose a new base.
Got to test the deathmobile against a couple of hulks out walking their dog. I hit them so hard I shredded their clothes and knocked the filth off the rags. Also emptied out a spider basement that contained about 40 spiders. The mini fridge just can’t keep up though and is doing a shitty job of keeping my food good. I will be eating spider jerky for a while. I imagine giant spider cooks up like crab.
Kobold I don’t remember which mod it but there is a mod that lets you unplug one of the fridges in houses, disassemble them into a fridge item then convert it so it can be mounted inside your deathmobile I think at least as long as I have.been using it it is more effective and has more space than the mini fridge.
Really. Cool I’ll check it out but I don’t generally like modding my game mid run. Might have to though.
We need a freezer unit.
Close-ish call.
So at labs I stopped bothering to keep the lights off. So instead of knowing where the turret rooms are, I only find out when the door is opened.
Even then, upon opening the door and seeing the turret, there’s enough time to hack them before they even think about shooting.
However, this one time I use the control laptop, instead of selecting the turret a skitterbot was selected to be hacked by accident.
Like the jackhammer, using the laptop does the action first then makes time pass a bit, and this gave enough time for the turret to put a few holes through my survivor. About thirty of them, 32 to be exact since the remaining bullets the turret had was 68. Most of them through the torso.
Thankfully, the combination of a nomad suit, survivor trenchcoat, and thermal electric outfit… and I guess a duffel bag was enough to just keep health reaching below yellow. Still, close call. No pain thanks to deadened, and confirmed that survivor releases pools of acid when getting decent-ish damage as if she was an acid zombie thanks to acid blood.
Hmm, found the lab journal that previously held the recipes for the diamond coated weapons. Since the change with the CVD machine, it no longer has any recipes. Perhaps it should be removed, or have new recipes on it.
