No, I surround myself with a few bear traps. I think it counted as hidden.
pisskop, sometimes the spiked pit or deep holes dont prevent them from bee lining towards the loot piles or demanding stupid bizarre shit.
like drop your weapon, rough skinned, reptilian eyed, you barely human cybernetic machine(at that point my character probably looked quite similar to a strogg),as we all know, some post-human Übermensch will obey your pathetic orders as you point him a shitty gun, wearing ragged shitty gear in the middle of his base as he is welding plates to a huge thing resembling a baneblade, not noticing the huge pile of human bones, human jerky and whole sets of bone armor made out of bone, human bone.
In all fairness. A shotgun will drop anything outside of power armor. The player is always much weaker than monsters in terms of tanking a single hit.
Because a player has an average of 84 hp times 6 BPs. Thats a max of 84 damage tanks in 1 blow.
A hulk has like 500 for 1 bp.
Last game i met blobs and ended up dead by them.
Today i’ve met mi-gos. Mi-go’s ,man, like in the old Lovecraft story. The one that run after me decided to bash the shady zombies we met while i was trying to escape. Went back on the spot the night after, found 4 shady bodies, wow.
I hear weird noises close to where the Mi-gos spawned.
I wonder if i could kite them close enough to the turrets that protect the area’s gun shop…
Unless you take it to the limbs.
Hey guys… I’m curious if you sometime save-scum? I don’t want to restart from zero each time so it might happen that from time to time, not always, I get back to a previous saved game. I know of the theory, and I like roguelikes, but with some many hours for PC gaming, I can’t afford restarting again and again.
So, what do you do on your side?

I like to make a backup of my save now and then, in case I’m killed by a bug (in experimental) or something I feel is deeply unfair/broken (for example, I once bumped my car into a wall at about 10mph and the whole thing exploded, killing me instantly. No back-up save, two year old character gone).
On the other hand, if I die because I’m an idiot or I didn’t plan ahead, I tend to move on. Even if I do feel incredibly bitter about it!
Bumping your car into a wall at 10mph doesent come under the category of dumb no?.
Lol nah joking I agree backup your saves and save scum away I do it to because as said above (experimental).
Today i rediscovered my first character’s neighborhood and killed for good the shock brute that took a heavy part in his demise. Making it my first certified brute execution.
That was sosatisfying ^^.
Will have to deal with whatever the shotgun ruckus will attract, though.
My Kingdom for a Hacksaw!
Seriously. I have hammers galore, more soldering irons than I can count, numerous screwdriver sets, axes, crowbars, wrenches, pliers, and a stack of spare parts that will probably kill me in my sleep when it finally collapses under it’s own grotesque weight.
But not one… goddamn… hacksaw…
Your mistake was in attempting to rebuild a Ford Pinto in the Apocalypse. From that moment on, your fate was sealed…
I killed a child zombie who must have been acting as a drug mule or something. Seriously, the kid had a military rucksack full of crack.
it was the school’s dealer? preschoolers dig the heavy drugs too you know.
Some NPC’s just don’t have any survival instincts it seems. When my character, wearing plate armor and a helm looted from a museum, refused to drop his katana the poor bastard who demanded he drop it ran up and tried to punch the heavily armed and clad entirely in solid steel man to death. This did not end well for the poor NPC. First he hurt his knuckles punching a man in full plate then he got sliced to bits.
Don’t take it to heart, all NPC’s are dumb.
Speaking of which, I left all the NPC’s that helped me survive the first 3 weeks. Once I got an armored car fully repaired and modded to suit my needs, I left them behind.
Cruel, sure. But tbh I only had a spare seat and I had 4 NPC’s following me.
The skills they taught me and protection they brought will never be forgotten.
I set myself on fire. Again. I am not good at fire.
Heat happens.
You Flaming klutz!
