Started a new game, left the beginning shelter and killed a small group of zombies. Looted the first one and found a cash card with two million dollars on it. Set for life! Or what’s left of it.
A .50 Bal exploded all over my body. Half my health went kaput. 155 pain. I have a shotgun I just emptied and I picked up the remaining balls before more death. Owwies.
OH JESUS WHAT IS THIS NEW INVENTORY SCREEN HELP ME I NEED THE OLD ONE BACK
My latest character is Officer Vic Kovac. Ran out of the small town police station he was posted at, and said town didn’t prove particularly rich, but I spent a lot of time circling around trying to find a working vehicle. The local public works seemed unapproachable due to hostile presence, but I did manage to rummage through an underwhelming mansion shortly before finding a battered but functional RV.
Bad news is that hotwiring it triggered the security system, and I wee-ooh-wee-ooh’d for miles until I found an even smaller town. Got off the RV and scavenged around, avoiding a brute and some mi-go, only to find the seemingly endless alarm had drained my vehicle’s battery dry.
The cars around the tiny village were all powerless as well, so I’ll need to take along walk to find a working car battery or hopefully a wrench, so I can loot some solar panels from a nearby electric car and bolt them onto the RV. Or install a freshly-found foot crank and generate just enough energy so my battered makeshift base can start up and put the alternator to work.
this new inventory system is both sluggish and inferior than the old one.
seriously,it is a mess…
eating is horribly tedious with this inventory.
never-mind actually checking your items.
what was the logic in replacing the old one that worked flawlessly.
you guys are all overreacting, and I dont notice any slowdown.
scrolling along the inventory will slow down significantly now compared to the old system
:|you guys are all overreacting, and I dont notice any slowdown.
Second that. I like new inventory window.
I mean, I’ve gotten used to the new one. I just like the old one better…
its not overreacting, but it literally slows down to a crawl when i access the inventory.
like slow performance, meaning that each movement on the item selector crawls at a snail pace.
Someone post screenshots of this new inventory, i can’t play atm.
Goddamn you. I waited half an hour for my potato Internet connection to see this “new inventory screen”. 30 minutes of my life. Wasted. And I may be sleep-deprived, tipsy, and a number other ailments, but I still curse you. May your saves be corrupted and your games be wrought with misfortune!
I waited 30 seconds and it moved!
I recently started an “abandoned” start. It’s basically when you’re a frail hospital patient and you get 50% less health. So if you had 82 HP on your torso, you now have 41. Bad times.
I quickly started up a bionic patient (Just because those repair nanobots are super appealing.) I spawned in, and opened two doors to find an NPC with a knife spear.
Thanks RNG.
To add to that, his quest was that he needed antibiotics.
Recruitment: Check.
Anyway, I promptly used him to destroy any zombies that were on my tail. After most of the hospital was cleared by his hands, I made a knife spear myself and started kiting zombies.
After threats were eliminated, I looted the place. And lo and behold I fought a joint torsion ratchet CBM at 0.35 spawn rate.
Hallelujah.
I looted the place for meds, meds and moar meds. Some books too, but most were zombie drops.
Anyway, there was a small settlement of 2-3 houses behind the hospital, and an entire city just in front. I quickly ran out of the front entrance and made a beeline towards the houses, killed all zombies (With my NPC) and made a small base.
I’m currently sitting on a pile of loot with tons of levels from frequent night raids (And using the sewer system that’s luckily sat right under my little hamlet of houses.).

Oh thank goodness. I’ll take that curse, My throughs always seem overly blessed.
May you live an interesting life.
heuheuheu.
Day 1 with my new smelly ugly punk/rock type.
Found a house. Basement obviously used for marijuana production. Good enough. Neighbouring Zs broke a window to say hello. Should be able to patch it shortly. And mop the place.
Met a Shocker Brute while raiding a veterinary not far. It shocked me from a distance, I repelled the beast on first melee assault, but barely scratched it. Decided to run away. The thing chased me a block away, until I locked it in a warehouse.
Note to self: only raid at night, to shake them easier.
Raided a grocery store on the way home and learnt to proper use a shopping cart and the “/” Inventory (thanks reddit ^^ ). Full belly tonight.
Up to about Year 6 I think with my survivor, with 30 day seasons.
I’ve got plenty of food in my LMOE home, and lots of tools and parts for constructing things. As a cannibal troglobyte though I can only move safely at night or underground, so overmap exploration has kinda slowed down a fair bit. I’m torn between wanting to explore and see new things, and just staying in my shelter and eating food and reading books.
