What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

If the weight is full body then yeah it’s significantly harder to deal with, but I wasn’t talking about encumbrance on your specific body parts I was only talking about pure weight

I, for one, vote that power armor should require at least our magical liquid batteries to be wearable. Otherwise, it shouldn’t provide any motion at all short of ridiculous strength. This means that it still remains awesome, but we’ll at least have to grind out some of our magic melting volts.

R.I.P., Clay Foxtail. You and your horrible 6/6/4/6 stats will be missed ;_;

When the horde dissipates I think I’ll have to try to recover the body and give him a proper burial :c

You wait several in game months for a Time Dilation CBM to turn up and then two show up at once within 5 minutes of each other real time…

Sigh.

I’m fairly certain that the “random” function in this game is bugged, as clusters like that are WAY WAY WAY too frequent.

Yes, they should happen occasionally… but it’s not occasional, it’s practically dependable (rare drugs are one of the easiest things to notice it on, for instance).

Well, to be fair one of them was in a bank vault and the other I found on a zombie… scientist I think? Or a shocker brute or something like that.

Still, annoying that I don’t get more variety with the drops.

It’s all random. Random can sometimes give you nothing but 1s, or never see a 1 in your entire life.

I now have the teleportation CBM, time distortion cbm, probability travel cbm, and the adrenaline releasing CBM.

Also, multiple suits of power armour including the Rivtech one.

I have a katana.

I have become… The Cyborg Time Ninja.

Well, nearly. I’m using Niten Ichi Ryu and this character doesn’t have Ninjitsu yet.

Somehow we perceive true randomness as less random.

It did it again. I found two Rivtech design binders in two bank safes in the same room. And multple of the CBMs I just listed.

I am, by the way, not sure which power armour I should be using. Any advice?

I have a heavy survivor suit etc on right now. I have a suit of RM13 I can wear on top.

I also have the option of light power armour, or basic, or heavy. I only have a light helmet, I think. I have a hauling frame. I also have about 4 rechargeable UPSes to give it ridiculous active time.

heavy survivor armor protects against just about everything.

I wear the rivtech armor most of the time when fighting z because it is practicaly impervious to acid.

I have no use for pa. I guess you could use it to wade through minefields or something? Punch milspec turrets to death? i dunno don t need.
I say you don t use it at all unless you can think of a use yourself.

Hmm. Well, I suppose I was just thinking about going on a katana rampage… and therefore I don’t want the ridiculous amount of torso encumberance I currently have.

RM13 won’t solve that but heavy power armour with the hauling frame instead of backpacks just might.

Really is kind of crappy that you… presumably… can’t use holsters etc with power armour suits though.

I’m surprised nobody thought of putting in magnetic attachment mods for weapons so you can clip it to your armour.

rm13 is 5 encumbrance itself when active? Is that to much or does wearing a backpack pushing it to 15 make it to much?
Or do you plan using it when not active?

I am not wearing a backpack on my character . The storage my clothing provides is enough. If not I drag around a storage vehicle.

Oh, my bad. When I said “backpack”… Well, I was really thinking of survivor rucksacks etc which are pretty encumbering.

Also the holsters and other stuff add to encumberance.

Nomad gear is best tier.

I suppose I could avoid the holster issue by just crafting a metric craptonne of ammo for one weapon and carrying that around.

e.g. Heavy automatic shotgun. Or just the Browning M2 if I can use that unmounted.

nomad gear IS pretty great. Though once you start making a vehicle it becomes rather pointless to be able to store ALL the things on you.

Good lord putting on power armour is a pain in the ass… This wouldn’t be so bad if I had the power armour interface so I could realistically wear it all the time without overheating.

Also, immensely annoying that you can’t use holsters with it. Of course, I can if I go with the RM13 but I don’t have a lot of plutonium cells.

Would perhaps be cool if Power Armor had it’s own set of modules or attachments that acted as backpacks\holsters etc. This is probably how actual powered armor would work. A power armored trooper would have a gear loadout like any other type of infantry, and if he couldn’t carry it in a conventional manner then an unconventional solution would have to be engineered. This would take the form of either Rifle racks, holsters, and gear compartments built into the suit, or modular attachments that fulfill those functions that can be swapped out for different loadouts and specialized roles.

That’s essentially what I had in mind, though I was thinking magnetic clamps to attach individual guns would be a simple holster alternative.
