This is the tale of my favorite character. Dave.
He found himself in the evac shelter and broke a window to make himself a nice bow. Then smashed some benches and lockers to make arrows after finding a rock. You know, like a normal person would do when faced with the apocalypse. He decided to go to the nearby office tower to look for some food, clothes, and most importantly a vehicle. He found that vehicle, but he never figured out how to leave the car park with it and wound up smashing it against the door 17 times before it lost it’s wheel. So Dave bailed and found himself an AMAZING find in the form of a cabin. He hunted and foraged at the cabin for about a day then decided to check out the Fema Camp he came upon. It was pretty sucky. Nothing good at all, not even in the science/medical building. Well we moved on after we butchered EVERY corpse in the fema camp and Dave needed his fix for amphetamines, so we went to the pharmacy. Big mistake. Every one and their grandmothers were there and Dave didn’t realize his bow was in his backpack. So he was duking it out with his fucking crowbar like a dumbass. The End.

Just ran my Bread Sled into a fungal bloom at two hundred miles an hour.

The Welding rig gave it’s life to destroy the spire but this bloom is no more. ONWARD TO THE NEXT ONE. Hopefully it’ll involve less damage to my vehicle.

I turned my shopping cart into some type of horrible demonic 274 mph motorcycle thing. Now i need to find more things to turn it into even more of a deathrap customize it. Vehicle construction in Cataclysm sure is fun.

I cant wait until computers are like it.

That was the exact time of my birth, IRL…

Spawned in to a rough world, thinking of gererating a new world but I said to myself that I was gonna be a lone ranger (Archer or crossbow man) So I set off, coming across a apartment building (Pretty good bases if you can clear them out). I kept moving into town, and the first house I looted had a crossbow in it.

This is gonna be great, I can tell.

So a moose and Sludge Crawler walk into a bar…

Or maybe there wasn’t any bar at all… Just me eating my breakfast, looking out the window…

A story to tell my descendants about how never to underestimate the the world of Cata:

So, I decided to raid the military outpost and take a bunch of zombie soldiers using my M1911. The whole operation went wrong when several land mines triggered nearby. I was stumbling left and right trying not step on any further killing blows. With sheer luck managed to take out the remaining zombie soldiers and heal my wounds wasting all my medical supplies in the process.

A few seconds later, another pesky landmine set off and I lost nearly all my health, with no healing kits on me I decided to return to my safehouse which is miles…miles further away. I rushed with my shopping cart onward but a pack of wolves intercepted me, shredding me apart and left me bleeding. I thought I was a goner until I found some homeostatic powder in the cart, those things are life savers, I’m telling ya. Hastily, I killed the pack with my M1911. I continued my way shambling in the dark until I reached my destination.

Haha back home by the skin of yer teeth, huh!

It seems I just destroyed a school. Nothing on this scale has occurred before for me…

Movie-style “2 hours earlier”…

My character had a bad night and couldn’t sleep. So naturally had meth for breakfast (for mental preparation, of course XD ) and then headed off to the previously unexplored public school nearby. Kinda expected Z and zs but not THAT many…

Went in, got a bit surrounded and rattled. Tried making choke points and using fire as a weapon but ultimately took off.

Saw there weren’t too many following so… fuck it, let’s go!!! Small groups had come out after me. Took them down with my trusty baseball bat. Set fire to the corpses. Moved on to second group. Club, crunch, smash and ignite. Back inside, only a few. Then more… need to create tactical advantage… so into a bathroom and set the door afire. Thought I’d just wait the flames out. Rookie mistake. ROOOKIEE!! Before long the whole place was filling with smoke. Honestly, didn’t expect to get trapped. All around there’s SMASH!es, BANG!s and CRASH!es.

Didn’t know what it was at first, assumed zombies breaking things down…

Flight instinct. On every head covering and boost it through the smoke…

Smoke. Rubble. Fire. The whole damn corridor was on fire. Out the doors at the end and around the outside. Chaos, noise and smoke. Now I can’t even SEE the building for all the smoke…

And I’d left some choice loot behind to go back for it after I’d cleared the place… Oh well, nothing that was rare or anything. Just opportune. Man that was fun.

Ended up opening the window, shooting it three times with my SKS, and turning it into bear sausage.

I’m having a very good character going, found an army jacket and an army pant, cleared several house in the town and secured a good food supply. The best thing is I found a broadsword! This is my first time using it, although it’s a little slow, cut down zombies with it feels extremely satisfying :smiley:

I’m into year six with 0.8. Beat It, you too, zombie Michael Jackson.

Year 6? I would like to see the stats of a char that lasted 6 years, I can barely stand playing past late year 1.

Just got killed by a misstep into a disector, didn’t even get to try to drive my new vehicle.
