What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

I usually get so overpowered before a month that I have to restart and play another character to have fun.
(Literally speaking of high-end bionics & mutations, piles of guns, ammunition, food, etc. With a working death mobile fortress and with stats above 12 with skills going as high as 10.)

It took me 12 days to get OP on my character. On day 21 i’m sitting here with a wakizashi with niten ichi-ryu martial art, a quadbike plated in steel with spiked ram in the front, a base in the forest, tools, books, and piles of food and water. I could sit in my house for months w/o having to go outside.

Right now i’m limiting myself to bows and flintlock weapons (and using my sword of course). It’s actually really fun to clear out an entire town with a flintlock rifle and it’s bayonet.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I made the house myself.

Sounds like you need to raise the zombie spawn. I play on x5 myself, just to stop that problem.

Bee’s vrs Zombie’s.

Thing is, I even spawned in the wilderness to make it challenging and ended up right next to a mansion.

But yeah, i’m not sure if elevated zombie spawns would work, being honest it’s just more of a drain on ammunition and supplies. Not to mention how tedious it would be to clear out cities.
Though i’ll give it a try to see how it goes.

try lowering the loot numbers as well, i play with half the usual supplies available or i set it to bare minimum, and increase the zombie count. i’ve yet to get so op that nothing kills me, usually last to day 13-20

Currently about to take up farming on Cata, never done it before.

Also, has anyone seen The Walking Dead: Season Three (Video Game) trailer? I know it’s late- but still, if you did what’d you think about it?

I just bought season 2 recently. Waiting to play it on a long flight that is coming up so don’t ruin anything for me.

I’m now on the basement floor 3 of the large military outpost. The good news is that I found another armored zombie. Seeing that it is utterly immune to my laser rifle and all kinds of other attacks that doesn’t involve electricity, there’s zero chance that I’ll accidentally kill it like what happened to the milspec turret. Even better, the armored zombie’s melee attack isn’t anything that can’t be countered with sufficient armour. Therefore, I’m currently beating up the armored zed nonstop to level up my melee and unarmed skills. It’ll probably take a few days before I got to skill level 10 and above.

I rather enjoy going on about daily chores training dodge on weak zeds. until I have a hour plus task I want to do.

I’ve decided that i’ll give my forge a whirl and make some swords. First however i’ll need to gather the materials to make it.

Just need some steel.

OH Gee, Wherever might you find enough steel to suit (heh) any and all of your needs. Steel is just SUCH a rare commodity… not like you can just steal (heh) it from your environment…

Apparently I am in a world without welders and the damned NPC won’t accept makeshift ones. Picky bugger!

On the bright side I have just about enough plutonium cells to finish off that mission.

hacky-but-not-cheaty way to do it: make a vehicle welding rig using makeshift welders, install it on a vehicle, then uninstall it again, then deconstruct it. VIOLA (yes, it’s just a large violin)! You have a welder.

Thanks deoxy! I had not thought of that workaround.
Put on power armor for the first time in the history of me playing CDDA. I felt good as I took no damage from being punched through two houses by 4 hulks and I managed to kill them.

Man, why can’t we wear things over power armor?
Yeah, you need somewhere to put the sunglasses.

After 198 days of gameplay, my Heavy Survivor RV can finally spit lasers and lightnings now.

And I still haven’t found a single rifle scope or gyroscopic stabilizer yet. So much for being the Ultimate Sniper.

Found royal beef in pizza parlor, wow, thats a high class pizza parlor.

Does royal beef have the same curative properties as royal jelly, except a more savory flavor?

Yes.

After much time away and some false starts I’ve got a decent character going.

Killed an NPC who threatened me, and now I’m all fucking mopey and depressed which is aggravating. So I guess I was supposed to let the asshole with a shotgun shoot me before I started shooting. Someone walks up to my base, tells me to drop my weapon, and then tells me to get out of there and now I’m depressed… Whatever, go spend some time looking for some electric cars to keep working on my first vehicle.

Also, how do I clean filthy items? I have a gas mask I’d like to use but I don’t think I can afford any further. I’ve seen some mention of soap, and have a ton of it stashed in my bathroom, but I’m still pretty unclear on how to use it.
