What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

I’ve been shredded but never killed by exploding ammo on zombie corpses that I burned.

Its gotten better. They explode in bursts and piecemeal instead of all 50 at once.

Summer, day 39.

My alter ego came close to a death of a thousand cuts. She went deep into the eastern town to pick up electronics stuff and almost missed the dawn, and got swarmed by Zs. She popped some painkillers (aka I used the debug menu to lower pain once I realized I left ALL of the painkillers at home) and managed to come out alive. Currently on the road home.

Lesson learned: don’t leave painkillers at home, kids.

tried looting home improvement store - turns out it has too many zombies, so i run towards the forest - the horde got slaugthered by some woodland critters, including a moose.
Note to self: better spend the whole summer on crafting and reading - the warmth limits armor too damn much.

I’ve found that those are more in the pain in the ass to clear out and loot than the megastores, with a relatively good and geared character at that. Even after clearing one, I think the loot was pretty lame as well (at my luck at least).

The only reason to clear the home improvement megastores is that the loot is VERY specific. You go there if you need seeds, sand, concrete, or are very desperate for a tool you can’t find. Otherwise, yeah, they’re not really worth the time.

I took the time to learn (and build) automated turrets. Put a couple of splintergun turrets on a cop car and drove it into town during the day. Daring daylight raids are now a possibility, as long as one a) carries lots of ammo, and b) doesn’t stay long.

Later I explored a lab. Just inside the entrance was a human corpse and the Cube of Eternal Suffering. When activated it says I don’t have enough charges. When examined it says “The Architect’s Cube”. Having it in inventory means my character can now see through walls. Really darned useful for lab exploration, let me tell you! I can’t wait until the inevitable horrible things to happen! It’ll be like Christmas morning but with more cannibalism!

Summer, day 40.

I went back to the farm I discovered back in the spring in hopes of finding a still. I didn’t find one, but I found a welder (but I have a welding cart), a metal tank and an acetylene torch. I made the tank into a steel jerrycan and said jerrycan into a still.

Looks like I’ll be able to make that t-tornado at last. Especially as the summer is slowly winding down and meat should stop rotting ultra fast.

That’s a debug artifact and using it is cheating. Have you done any debugging in that world before?

what does that even mean 12 outta 10

It means I just murderated a cyberdemon while taking zero damage from it and stunlocking it.

And then getting the option to fully heal.

Well, I figured, but why 12 outta 10? Excess health boost?

Im trying to get a beserker pack going. And an item that will ‘iv drip’ health into you.

I used several intensity levels and put the adrenaline injector effect onto it. This is 2 iv drips in.

Well I finally found a pair of binoculars, so now I need a new goal.

You should get a granade

So I found a lab with a interesting feature: it had one-way stairs. I crafted a grappling hook and climbed down.

Also Dealing with Zombie Grenadiers 101:

Speaking of which, does the new Telescopic Eyes CBM totally replace binoculars, or do they stack?

Finally acquired a deputy badge. And killed my first jabberwock… Travis had a good day today.

Now if only he could find some good first aid books in the bookstore next door.

Awwwwww. Goodbye Cube of Forbidden Horrors (not eternal suffering, that was just wishful thinking).

Honestly, if it’s not going to corrupt my soul I’ve got no interest in it.
