Everything that can stack enough to have volume EVER (so, everything but lighters and cash cards, I think, in vanilla) now rounds up instead of down, 1 aspirin takes one volume… but then, 100 aspirin also take one volume, too. The objective, as I understand it, was to keep people from abusing the system by carrying 1 less of each stack (99 aspirin, 7 bacon, etc).
I think it’s quite a bit excessive, as I like to carry just a couple of each pill, just in case, and carrying 1 of each type of pill takes more volume than a rifle, but I understand the idea behind it. Instead, I think they should just make volume like weight - able to handle decimals.
No, there are plenty of things that don’t burn. Lab walls is indeed one of them. Stone floors is another. Dirt, steel walls, there are several things… but not very many.
Labs make GREAT bases (too good, in many cases, really). Currently, they are quite safe to use, even uncleared (it’s usually wise to completely clear any level you are going to use, though - brutes eventually evolve into hulks, which can smash their way through almost anything).
The only danger of living in an uncleared lab is when you have hordes turned on, there may be constant noise from locked up zombies (or migos) banging on the walls.
One other thing is that the awesome loot room at the bottom is sometimes open, and the secubots will eventually kill themselves on the dissectors. The explosion no longer instaly vaporizes the loot (that was really silly), but it can do damage. Damaged mininukes are radioactive, for instance, and damaged laser rifles are less accurate. Also, recipe books are fairly easily destroyed. A pretty mild problem, really, but you might regret it in the late game.
