I found a flamethrower in a fire station.
It’s the other kind of fire station.
Firemen will occassionally start controlled and planned fires in order to remove available Oxygen for an uncontrolled on. Especially in forests or away from civilization.
Fire breaks, yeah.
Lost my entire armored truck-turned halftrack after updating my experimental. 
I basically said screw it, and debugged myself some parts to make a little cart to push around to carry loot. Dubbed it the “Personal Wagon.” Wheeled it around for a bit, and what do you know, just after losing my vehicle I run into a hulk. But it was no match for my BAR, reducing it to a rotting corpse in a few shots. The .30-06 cartridge is more powerful than I thought.
firefighters also burn lots of of stuff to “learn more about fire” Really its just an excuse to watch more shit burn. Cuz contrary to what many would think many firefighters are pyromaniacs. They WANT to watch the world burn. Not really, but its not that far off. Sort of like dancing with the devil.
I was a bad man and I savescummed. I froze to death after an imp clawed my head half off and I was sitting in an evac shelter making some basic head clothing.
I had 6 bandages too, which pissed me all the way off.
Im justifying it as its still the first night and I had a save maybe an hour before so I could watch carnage and I damn well didnt want to do another fresh night again.
I started in a house controlled by cellar spiders, and I managed to grab an oil lamp before getting swarmed. I managed to get outside, and packed close enough was a swat truck with guns and ammo in it in working order. So I got out of the city, and just 5 tiles away is a group of dead campers with a mess kit with 100 batteries, a first aid kit (I start with infection, which is why I’m inside the city), a hunting knife, and a refillable lighter.
Then I go up a few tiles north east of the city and I hear this “VROOM VROOM” noise, or something. And I find this natural artifact, and I’m “Ooooohh sweeeeeet!” = D So I go up to it to pick it up and…
The game crashes.
I’ve been camping in a mansion lately. The well stocked library is keeping my busy for the moment. Soon I’ll have to head out though… resources are needed!
Do breathers do anything? They seem to just sit there but if wildlife attacks them I figure something is wrong with them.

Guess that’s why I like picking the last firefighter scenario so much. You get pretty decent equipment early on and I feel like a walking tank with all the bunker gear (turnout stuff). Also screw your katanas, fire axe is where it’s at.

I raided a small city with my green ‘@’ (equipped with a copper spear), we downed a small horde of zeds, then it was “hol up yo, I gotta solve all your problems with unpulped corpses without you having to do anything” for the next 5 minutes.
