What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

I’m so sorry.
But it doesn’t scale up!

"At the scale of millimeters, ants have great strength, high speed and the ability to trap air pockets when submerged, which in turn makes their rafts water repellent," they write in the most recent issue of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. "These abilities will likely vanish at large sizes."
Oh, missed that. In that case they all wear life jackets. /isbadatreading

Still, maybe the giant ants breed tiny fire ants and use them as rafts? Like… floating cattle.

I think leaf cutter ants already pasture and breed aphids

Actually, that’s true, so maybe it’s not too unlikely…

Well, my lady mechanic’s latest adventure consisted of armouring up, picking up a zweihander sword and heading into the local school, which turned out to contain about 300 frigging zombies, mostly kids. I’m not sure how many it really was, but the amount of corpses I had to butcher was disturbing.

GLORIOUS SLAUGHTER FOLLOWED. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

I seriously cannot believe I survived that. I was bottlenecking them in doorways and windows and destroying absolutely everything while taking very little damage.

I’ve never once tried to raid a school, ever. Like, never ever. The sheer number of zombie kids, combined with the severe morale penalty and the fact that the little bastards can revive was a major push-away factor for me. The closest I ever got to a regional school was whilst running from a horde of zombies from a city. I fired two rounds from an M72 LAW at said school (back when LAWs could be unloaded and reloaded)

Oh they won’t be reviving from what I did to them.

No. No they will not.

The school is full of children chunks now. I never did find the royal jelly I was hoping for but I guess I can try again. I did find some very nice books in the library.

I also raided the hospital. That was not nice either. It’s full of boomers and puke zombies. Nearly every zombie in there is a boomer. Still, I came out with a tonne of ammonia jugs so now I have all the batteries I want. Worth it.

…Now I need to go back in and find more glass flasks…

my latest char is in a ton of pain for no apparent reason, 170+ and raising. He’s eating codeine like candies, with a heavy helping of aspirins, marihuana and alcohol, hoping to either pass out or just straight die where he is ( yeah, speed is ~20, all attributes -10).

Checked for an infection? That happened to me when an infected wound became a full on infection needing antibiotics.

Also the pain gets worse due to carry weight being exceeded if you don’t drop all your stuff and let it wear off.

As far as I know, your character can also die from using too many painkillers, so I’d say relax on them a little bit.

Just found a kid zombie.
WITH A WEDDING DRESS.

OK, add that to the list of “stuff that shouldn’t spawn in inventories”, I think.

Game just crashed for no reason and I lost my most successfull character.
He had an aluminum keg, a semi and a fine SOPMOD tacticool 1337-sup4hpr0 nail rifle with shitloads of weapon mods.
I ragequit and now thinking about something that can soothe my sore mind. Maybe some Uplink, huh.

I highly suggest autosave. Saved my life from crashes far too often.

Yes, that’s a good idea. Forgot that it exists.

the second line is very interesting. I had no idea extra weight can worsen the pain. I eventually reached 450+ pain level and decided to sleep it off. After a day of almost continuous sleep, it went away. Now i have to deal with the opiates addiction

Found a zweihander. Now I only need full platemail and iron guards. Giant Dad is coming, beech.

My latest character, Cooper Robinson had quite an adventure.

Started off (random character) with addictive personality, went into town (suburbs) killed lots of zombies (classic zombies off), found an axe, killed more zombies, set up base in a house, found a dog, made all of his clothing tougher (backpack and baseball cap included), lost his dog INSIDE of his house (with all doors closed), looted a gun shop (nothing except for a SKS), looted 2nd gun shop (ammo for SKS + supressor + scope), started shooting every zombie he saw (butchering too, of course), found a quad bike (no gas), found a gas station (with a bonus zombie horde), killed every zombie in sight (60-90 zombies, can’t quite remember), refuelled quad bike (after taking down 2 houses + 10-15 zombies + a bonus bear = like a boss) moved outta town (never found my dog again), looted 3 more gun shops in adjacent town and is currently in a lab with a shotgun in hand + guns in the quadbike (an AK-47, M19A1191, SKS++,Glock+, MAC-10+ and lots of food and water + some c4 and random explosives i found in a bunker that i forgot to mention).

BTW, i found a flooded area inside the lab, any clues on what might that be??? (deep water)

So I’ve been using static spawn for as long as I’ve been playing, and I’ve finally decided to try dynamic. Here goes my first dynamic spawn!

Oh my god, the shelter’s right next to a swamp! Eh, it’s probably only 6 map tiles or something.

Oh dear.

It seems as if the RNG doesn’t want me playing on dynamic spawn.

Also I’ve just noticed that there’s a radio tower in opposite direction, so no early looting for me.
