Trust me, Wolf, i tend to carry A LOT more i mean, i am the kind of guy that wears as many backpacks, rucksacks, messenger bags etc as possible while wearing cargo shorts, belt rigs, trenchcoats and the like
I don’t use vechicles though, they never work out for me…
i had given up taking the packmule trait and maxing out my volume since i discovered inventory limit. what’s the point of having over 200 volume when the max you can carry is 75 items , most of wich are your clothes and giant stockpile of meds.
This 75/75 limit sucks. It’s so… unrealistic, if you have enough place in backpack to fit a Zeppelin in it, then this fixation on 75 items max seems like some psychic disorder. Probably a weaker variant of Hoarder trait that all characters in Cata suffer from.
And not just for inventory… Shooting maybe. Or interacting with stuff. Mmmmmmmm… I’m getting all kinds of ideas for this. Lucky I can’t code so I can bug other people with my irritating ideas.
I’m swearing because I’m wet (I think it’s a bug btw, I’m wearing a sweater which gives me 40 warmth). I’d stay in the shelter if not for the fact I’m slowly running out of matches. Plus, I need thread or sinew…
I had a derp moment, when I tried to bypass the walls blocking the juicy weapons and armor inside a Military Bunker.
“I’ll just use this here grenade launcher, what could possibly go wrong?”
I ended up burning everything. :(
This made me laugh… Strange how highly flammable can iron and concrete walls be. I nearly incinerated myself in science lab one day after tossing a molly on z, forgetting that ground is flammable. Had to jackhammer a tunnel in rock, since there was no escape, and while searching for any way out of there, lost all my limbs.
After punching abominations from netherworld and robots one too many times after visiting an Lab the game decides that I am too overpowered and “cleans” the map when I am sleeping without my power armor. I came up with a good in-game explanation of it begin an after/side-effect of messing with teleportation labs and eldritich creatures. I am now traveling the country with nothing but a backpack full of explosives, an survivalist will and iron fists.
I havn’t played cataclysm since like .4, I come back and so many things are added and changed :O. So I started by running to the nearby farm on the first day with a self bow and some fire hardened arrows and cleared it got bit, cauterized the wound then went on to start making it into a base. Also I’m gonna post a picture and I wanna know have farms been changed so they look like this:
So instead of it being like squares its now all connected which I actually prefer
I was driving my own personal death machine back to my base after a nice (and pretty successful) gun store raiding trip. my headlights were busted from running down all the zeds, and night time fell before i got back. i parked the car on the side of the road and decided to move there on foot. the flashlight had low batteries and it was super dark, and to make things worse it was raining. being cold and wet wasnt nearly as bad as what was about to happen.
Right before i got to the warmth of my safe, warm gas station, my flashlight died. in the middle of cursing my luck, a jabberwock broke my spine from behind and ripped me apart. two shotgun shells did nothing to stop it. my longest living character gone in less than two minutes.
First game for a while so I do a new world. Get out of the shelter with my little spear and run along the highway one direction. MILLIONS OF BEES. I go the other direction and its just some ants so I go ahead and run through stabbin’ some here and there. Then suddenly, JABBERWOCK! I am now running for my life. And then fungaloids begin popping up. Of course it only went downhill from there as I slowed down enough for the jabberwock to catch up. It promptly murdered me with the help of zombies of all sorts, fungaloids, and ants. So many ants.
I found a pickup with 5% and a v6 engine. a gas station was right nearby, so i hop right in, only to find that there is no seat in the drivers seat. thinking nothing of it, i grab the controls and hit the gas, only to fly out the backwindow and die. Moral of the story, seatbelts are useless without seats.
I’ve found a nice Public Works building situated in a huge field that is surrounded by big cities. I’ve been turning the Public Works into a decent shelter; boarding up the windows, setting up storage areas, ect. The cities around it offer awesome supplies, but soon enough I’ll have to get a vehicle going so I can find other areas for resources and points of interest.
Oddly enough I haven’t seen any labs, bases or outposts as of yet. I haven’t explored much, though.
So I started a world like always, but this time I wanted to build a coil gun for the lolz. Found a public works, made it into a base then giant ants attacked so I cleared them out with my truck. Thats not the fun part though, So i went to another city so I could find a electrionics store for the UPS and driving a car in a town will spawn LOADS of zombies. I would show you a picture but I forgot to take one so heres my kill count.
So i set up an safehouse inside the city, placed a couple of bear traps near the doors and windows to secure it and was ready for bed. But then i realized that “man, i am hungry!” but i didn’t have a hotplate with me or a brazier so i couldn’t cook inside the house and it was raining outside. So i thought “Well s*** what do i do?”, and it was then i saw the oven…
Fast forward a little and i had several tables worth of 2x4s stacked inside the oven and was ready to get cooking. With my pointy stick in one hand and a lighter in the other i remember thinking “there is no way this can possibly go wrong!”
Well, the first sign that something wasn’t quite right was that the stack of spare wood next to the oven started burning. The second sign was that the walls started burning…
The good news is that i DID manage to cook some meat before i left the house, and i can probably dig the bear traps out of the smoldering ruins later on.
