What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

You’d think that an oven is fireproof, too…

Obviously not

The oven is wooden, that’s probably why.
I always use fireplaces.

Well it was a standard oven found inside the houses in the cities, but yeah i thought they would be fireproof.

In other news, in the same game i managed to reach autum for the first time  i think it is because i spend most of the ingame days either hunting, collecting and puryfing water and work on the walls around the evac shelter. I am really glad that the evac shelter is surrounded by forests otherwise it would have been quite a drag to build walls.

It’s an amazing feeling when you can burn everyone and thing you meet.

Who in their right minds would build an oven out of wood. Seriously, did Kenmore appliances get taken over a bunch of morons or something?

Ingvar Kamprad strikes again!

The last day of summer dawns for Skip McWoodson, with the early light flooding through the cabin windows illuminating his treasured piles of stuff and things. He has spent the last three of four days learning all he can about mechanics from some old books he found in a mansion. If he had to put a number on his skill level right now, he would guess about a six, whatever that means. Today he is going to drive his beat up old flatbed truck out to a bridge in the south-east to check the condition of a military cargo truck he passed a couple of weeks ago. If all goes well, he’s going to fix it up and deck that thing out in as many spikes and armour plates as he can to create a rolling death truck the likes of which had never been seen. It is this kind of pet project that will keep Skip sane, his basic needs are met, food, water are all in abundance out here in the middle of the woods, but the loneliness is palpable. His only solace now is that he has the tools available to wipe out whatever small percentage of the undead scourge that wanders in his path. And if it ever gets too much for him, well there’s than mini-nuke he found in that crate a while back…

Felt pretty confident that my modified big rig could punch through an abandoned storefront at top speed.

I had no idea of how many objects I actually had to slice through and my gas tanks erupted while in the building, although the building caught fire and I slid out the other side still alive(barely).

That’s one more brush with death because of my curiosity.

reminds me of the first time i drove my go-kart at max speed. long story short, if i was a few inches to the left my ribs and lungs could have become best friends.

i cant seem to start back up again, keep dying and dying and dying, no living for more than 10 hours… what am i doing wrong???

I guess it might just be your strategy? You playing with classic zombies off I assume?

My early play is always…

Quick trait,
Longbow from Evac center
Rocks for throwing
Sheet for 20 rags
Pipe for crowbar

When it comes to raiding I always try to get a working vehicle asap, after .6 this has become dirt easy as wrecks and working vehicles are everywhere.

-find house,find fridge,smash fridge,find rubber hose,find bottle,find wreck,siphon gas,find working car.-

From there I just Drive directly to what I need most and squash zeds. Remember, just outrun and outwit the zombies and all you have to do is worry about the dogs.

I have yet to find a working vechicle in .06, every car i find always has something that makes it unable to work and while i find tons upon tons of welding glasses i have yet to find a welder so even if i find a replacement part i can’t use it to fix the broken car.

On the plus side, all the seats i scavange from the cars gives me a lot of leather patches and springs i can use!

Last week I made a challenge for myself to find gentleman stuff, and I’m finally finished. I started as a tailor for fitting dress shoes, found a suit in the second house I looted. It took me a week of looting pawn shops for me to find a top hat and rapier. Finding a monocle was really tough, but I got a scratched one from a lucky zed. I believe I got a pack of cigars from a mansion desk. I suppose that now I should become an expert swordsman, or find a cane which is so weird because I almost always find a cane, but never a monocle.

I’m stationed in a little town, planning on making sure every zombie is dead then fortifying most of the houses as back up bases.

EDIT: There was A LOT more zombies than I expected. Ran out of arrows so had to kite them out of the town then back to base to get more arrows. I made some heavy fletched field point arrows. made 30 of them and have 5 fletched feild point arrows.

Try to get your mechanics level up to level one, then you will be able to make metal arrows from scrap metal  they almost never break and do a lot of damage

Tried out the slingshot on my last character, and boy was that fun. Nothing more amusing that making ~250 pebbles, making a slingshot, and then kiting about 50 or so zombies around a field while holding down the F key.

Was surprised to see it was archery related, too. So looks like I’ve got a new way to grind up my bow making skills early.

Just remove headlights, then repair them with your acquired headlight (flashlight) or remove windshields and repair them. Also, If you need light and dont feel like being choked to death by smoke, get a steel frame and start vehicle construction, attach a flash light, and controls. But flash lights go up (This way ^ on screen) and you cant move it unless its a small car.

Okay thanks. Gonna have to hit up the garage when I clear out the town about 20 map tiles from the one I’m in now.

i think i’ve hit the jackpot
