What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

49.9? I am disappointed, 49.9 is for casuals, 50 is where it should be .1 be a huge difference.
Really? I decided to go with 49.9 because I wasn’t sure if 50 might be bugged.
Its been working just fine for me.

Also there’s practically no difference between 49.9 and 50.0 I think.

Also how did you survive? What was the character like?
It was pretty OP, stats 14/14/14/14, Razor Boy using Krav Maga, an extra point put into dodging, melee, and unarmed. It was pretty hairy, and if one of the zed i kited away from the shelter hadn’t dropped a First AIDS Kit I might not have made it. Surprisingly, the smoker zombies actually helped me escape.

now thats hot as fuck idc who you are (random char roll)

im going to have fun RP’ing this… cant wait to see how she dies…

I was casually strolling with my bicycle down the street. Suddenly a random zombie smashes a car.

CUE TO BEING RIPPED TO DEATH BY HUNTERS

This horde thing is fun.

Day three, I have searched six houses so far. Not a single pot or pan or anything that would let me boil water, but not one, not two, but THREE gun nut basements, with row upon row of guns and ammo.

I have been drinking beer and soda so far, but it is running out, and I have caught a cold. My last supply run I had to brave an acid rain, so when I got to town I was in so much pain that the zombie that greeted me when I opened the door almost got me.

Smash bushes to make underbrush, pick veggies from underbrush, cook veggies to grind up your cooking skill. If you can take down wildlife reliably and have a tool for butchering them, do that too. Once you hit 2 survival and 1 cooking, you can build a stone pot from sticks and stones and string.

Uh. My not smart yet strong brawler has been deceased due to my own silliness. Was a bit greedy at pillaging of the ice labs, decided to brawl these R-bots.
Their funny bullets couldn’t pierce my thick skin, but their explosions were getting to my head somehow. My brawler of great potential died with his head exploded and his last words “Don’t trust the science!”.

ive been doing this since you suggested it; once you pick underbrush, it disappears. does it eventually grow back? do you have to be in the area for stuff like that to happen? AFAIK map blocks freeze when you travel too far away from them, i.e. fires dont burn, food dont rot, etc

Last time I checked, bushes don’t grow back. At least not the kind that grows from the ground

So, I had a rather fun first two days.

My character is basically a computer hacker, with some melee and dodge skill. I sort of wanted to do something I hadn’t really done before. I also gave her a high intelligence and the Fast Reader trait, aiming to be some sort of all-knowing hacker tank.

Starting out in the evac shelter, I noticed that there were barely any buildings around the spawn point - just two houses, a grocery store, a radio station, and a hotel. This was likely just the outskirts of the town… Safe enough. I talked with the NPC in the shelter and he gave me a USB drive, telling me to go to a house in the outskirts. I managed to get the NPC to tag along with me, because you never know when that sort of thing might be useful.

And as soon as I stepped outside, I noticed a scientist’s corpse, along with two bottles of mutagen! Score! Drinking both of the bottles in quick succession, I gained Minor Radioactivity, Phelloderm (weak armor, less wet penalties, reduced need to drink), Strong (+1 strength), and Stubby Tail (does nothing). Not too bad, really! A tiny negative one, two positive ones, and one that might as well not be there. So I was already off to a good start.

So we headed to the house and easily downloaded the data onto the USB, just as asked, and in return, the NPC taught me… a ton of stuff. Turns out that the cost of NPC training is sort of broken, so I basically have infinite money on that front. So, a lot of trapping skill, unarmed combat, bashing weapons, trapping, etc… We spent the night in the house, only to be rudely awakened by zombies crashing in through the windows. We killed them and ran while we could, taking off for a gas station to the north east, far away from the outskirts.

Alas, on the way there the NPC got eaten by zombie dogs, leaving me all on my own…

I made it to the gas station, stocked up on some food and drink, and read a road map, revealing the next town over. Something caught my eye: a hospital. So I began hiking down the road, through swamp and wood. After swimming across a river in the pouring rain (thankfully the Phelloderm mutation kept my morale up) I made it to a small farm, where I took working a semi truck and drove it into town, with great difficulty.

Needless to say, I ended up crashing, taking a lot of damage to the torso, and leaving me highly vulnerable. I took my things and ran to the doctor’s office nearby, and managed to use my ~leet hacker skillz~ to open up the medicine area, which is where I am currently:

I’m probably going to sleep in town for tonight, spend the next day in the countryside, and then return in the night for a raid on the hospital. Planning on stocking up on medicine and drugs. Let’s hope I survive!

Map of the area I’m in right now:

Good luck…

I got headshooted o death by a turrent. I just wanted to smash one with my hydraluic muscles.

Don’t melee turrets.

FTFY.

I found that with the sniper conversion and a extended barrel, even a ruger 10/22 becomes an epic weapon of mass destruction (A kill every 2 rounds, and with .22 rounds coming in stacks of a 100) I have found a new signature weapon.

FUCK YOUR SHIT, MELEE TURRETS. LIKE A BOSS.

FUCK YOUR SHIT, MELEE TURRETS. LIKE A BOSS.
DIE. LIKE A BOSS.

A : sniper conversions are AWESOME.
B: my fav/signature weapon is RM99 revolver due to it being like a shotgun but not using shotgun ammo.

My favorite guns? The Mossberg 500, the guns in Werty’s pack, and the UMP 45.

i try to carry the two USP pistols and a browning or savage rifle, until i find a rivtech full auto, which seem to work well for me and 8mm caseless seems fairly abundant; i prefer the browning BLR until then but can never seem to find 30-06 ammo, whereas .308 and 7.82mm NATO are usually pretty easy to find

might try that with a 10/22 if i get the chance but like i said i prefer higher caliber for the inherent need for distance and power in rifle applications; i.e. if it can be done easily and quickly with a .22 then just use a pistol and save the rifle ammo for bigger fish

just randrolled this bad mother
but i wish the random gen was weighted more towards core stats and not so much skills or traits

Made a character (Military Recruit) got a decent starting area. Ran out of ammo as I was clearing out part of this town/city… had to go melee with 0 melee skill or bashing, lucky me I found a hammer. Unlucky me, there’s two gun stores, 1 has 0 ammo and literally like 20 different guns, the second I’m not sure of yet. (Let’s hope) Only problem now is I lost my glasses while killing a zombie. (Yay…) so now I’m basically stumbling around looking for some contacts or something.

EDIT: Not even a minute after posting this I found some bifocal glasses :D!
