We make TERRIBLE suggestions and come up with horrible ideas (Round II)

You don’t know how to make blur spoilers?

Course I do, it’s just setting to reach it is janky with phone texting…

Then they should be dated for expirataion. Because then the user can take the risk. But not dating them and giving them a crap shoot is a bad idea. The only bad MRE I’ve heard of is past dated cheese/milk based food items. Otherwise we should have specific Camp MREs added to the game. Why? Freeze dried is different than standard dehydrated military rations. Shelf life is 35+ years in real life.

Seriously. Look up Mountain House. Youtubers even have eaten 35-40 year old rations with no spoilage.

If you nmean nmy ideafor modular packs and more items like the tool belt. Then yeah.I had devised a whole pack system some time ago with the idea of allowing more worn garments able to hold ā€œquick useā€ like lighters andmatches, pocket tools etc… But the idea was mostly ignored for reasons of who knows.

It’s more likely that people are too busy implementing their own ideas (and subsequent bugfixes for things they broke); have you had a look at the code for the tool belt? I’m sure you could copy/paste it and make some small modifications for your suggestion.

It’s also that most everyone has ideas but only like (this is mostly a guess) a couple of dozen people contribute to the game in any given week. And it’s mostly the same six or seven people that contribute hefty amounts.

Many of whom have families . . . have jobs . . .

Anyone who wants something in the game – that’s great, it might even be a great idea that makes it in eventually. Mostly, though, I’d encourage those people to go invest some time in learning how to code or edit json.

I’ve been learning c++ and it’s really slow going, I’m struggling a lot, so I’m not going to pretend that’s easy, especially if you’re not technically minded. Json, though, if you can read and have a text editor, you can do a lot with the json.

That’s good to know. In all the recent patch notes I see that more and more is being converted to json. I’ll take a look into it. Would you recommend notepad++ or similar?

BTW this was comment 666. Appropriate.

I would recommend notepad++, yes. It’s free, and it has a mode for json (the language menu -> J -> json) which is mildly helpful, as well as the fact that it numbers lines and lets you collapse blocks, etc. etc.

There’s also a significant chance any given idea is either a massive undertaking to implement, not actually possible, not the way we want to go with things, or would be an inferior version of an already planned feature.

E.G. quite often on the Discord channel when I speak about archery I have to tell someone something along the lines of: yes I know what a windlass is, no arbalests aren’t going in the game, arrows don’t work that way, or I’m aware bow balance is broken, I have a PR in progress to fix it.

On the topic of pockets and slots for things, my understanding is that the eventual goal is for all clothing to have ā€œpocketsā€ that store things, with variable use times, so you’ll be able to stick a bunch of items to your vest/in your pants’ pocket for quick use, then keep everything else in your backpack. Also, you’ll be able to drop your backpack and it will keep anything inside it.

Heh, funny. If that is the case. Then that means my system is slated to be in the game, even though it was frowned upon.

But then again I don’t mind much. I know a handful of stuff has been implemented from my ideas.

It’s quite likely there was a miscommunication or your outlined system works on a different basic principle to what is intended.

It’s quite likely you just had a concurrent idea. Most contributors focus on one specialized area and have a great deal of knowledge there. Sometimes just talking about something gives you the encouragement you need to actually sit down and make it happen.

There’s playboys, why not shitty doujins

Necrophilia trait. Causes you to lose morale when killing zombies. Not on robits and living things, though. Just zombies

lol

Necrophilia is a sexual disorder in which aperson seeks sexual gratification from someone or something dead. Like screwing a corpse xD

Not sure it correlates to the destruction or desecration of the dead…made me laugh though. So thanks for that

Zombies can now wield weapons, perform basic crafting, run when they need to, and can now use doors.

Or, even better, zombies can now drive cars.

You should have to take an action to actually put a seat belt on when you get into a vehicle, and the same for when you exit.

You gain the ability to tune to specific stations but most of them, you just end up either greeted by static or the sound of rending flesh and hysterical screaming.

Each time you kill a zombie you make a new NPC spawn somewhere around the map!
