Fursuit with the hands and feet removed to allow better manual dexterity and to be able to wear better footwear. Kevlar plated for protection, the ‘head’ of the fursuit modified to look menacing.
Survivor fursuit, running around in a survivor fursuit would be hilarious, and add a bit of flavor to schizophrenic/insane characters.

Then shot on sight by another survivor who has mistaken you as some monstrosity worthy of beeing the target of his elephant gun.
They are tolerant enough not to shoot giant mutants with minotaur faces and tentacles for arms.
The survivor would have to be some sort of a grizzled 4chan oldfag, permanently enraged that internet is dead, who is fine with mutants and cannibals, but will not suffer the furry to live.

Yes… Yessssss… A horrible new clothing item.
I always assumed the game needed more small piles of rubble and things that require a “hacking” style minigame to parkor over successfully. Clothing of various types would increase/decrease chances of itself/other clothing items getting torn, even in a successful attempt. So that long flowing duster is probably going to get caught on rebar, but a skinsuit worn on the outside would decrease chance of anything getting caught.
Additionaly gloves would make sure you don’t scrape up your hands on the rough cement, although small chance for damage to occur even with gloves, it would just damage the cloves instead. This should properly handle “wear and tear”
Also tetanus, including booster shots, and pre shots.
Unfortunately that would also mean that rubble would have to deal damage to Z’s like really crummy traps. I suggest this be fixed with reptillian (lizards and snake) Z’s and reptilian mutation Z’s which, having scales would just slither through the rubble without difficulty and catch you getting stuck on ‘every other’ pile of rubble.
Cleanliness of hand: Filthy hand after combat and crafting -> Food poison, accidental mutagen intake etc; Greasy hand after eating without utensil -> Weapon slipping out of hand.
Tool Damage: hand damaged in crafting and building, repaired by first aid kit. You damaged your hands further! You don’t have enough chunk of meat to repair your hands! You repaired your hands completely! You made your ++hands extra sturdy!
We should be able to butcher ourselve for cureable skin or pelt depending on mutationstatus. Just aply firstaidkit to healup after and stop the bleeding.
Every 2 days or so you can harvest yourselve for some skin. If you ate enough you might also gain some fat.

snake and lizard mutations also shed once a month or so, and the skin can be used as armour… or whatever else a shed skin is good for… not much without the connective tissues underneath holding it together… but it should probably be solid enough to protect you from the rain… probably. Not like it bothers you much with scales for skin anyways though…
Same goes for furry mutations too though. Allowing you to make fur lined clothing and such… not that it will change much since you already have fur. Then of coasrse you can skin yourself for fur pelts as well though, so that will be more useful. though not much.
what furs. OH, I didn’t notice them they match your fur so… eeeep. Did… did you. No, he/she probably just murdered their familly… yea, thats a much better thought. Im going to proceed with that thought.
