I recently watched a devlog of 7dtodie. Damn… talking about implementing game mechanics and not understanding how they tie into the game.

‘Yeah, traps now no longer are strong enough to destroy Z’s. They just give you time to shoot them. shotguns zombie in the head, takes 7 shots to kill it

Who the fuck has working firearms? And the resources to shoot up to 7 shots per zombie? And this was a normal Z I think. Not even a stronger one. (iirc 7 days to die has stronger Z types).

I remember killing z hordes in the night by running backwards and placing spike traps :3

Farming gives loads and loads of produce, but aside from making so much food and booze you’ll never be able to even make a dent in it.

Now comes my new mod idea: The fArmory.

The pHarm gun has several different modes that have different effects depending on the amount of fruit and what type of fruit you put in it. Several different addons can also add effects.

Zombified pumpkins that try to carve people on Halloween.

Given how well washing clothes has gone over, I was thinking we could add an oral hygene system. Players might get cavities if they don’t brush their teeth often enough. Brushing your teeth requires a toothbrush tool, consumes toothpaste and needs a nearby source of clean water. Players could also get a moral penalty if they haven’t brushed their teath in a while.

Also, a nail clipping system. You need a nail clipper tool to clip your nails. Sissors could be used instead with a chance to do a small amount of damage to your feet. Clipping your nails gives a moral boost.

who uses nailclippers? they barely clip it and sometimes they break on nails, scissors do it easier, quickier and less painfully (only sometimes your nails will be triangle or square if you do it realy quickly)

Dynamic zombie prefixes. Instead of having separate monster types for each kind of special zombie, apply a prefix that modifies the zombie’s stats and abilities. E.g. the shocker prefix adds +x speed and the electric effects, brute prefix adds +x speed, additional health/armor, and the bash attack. As zombies evolve over time, more and more prefixes would be applied, until towns are filled with nothing but Corrosive Shocker Spitter Grabber Smoker Hulks.
