Also, another suggestion. Make car maintenance every bit as irksome as it is in real life. Top off the oil or the engine starts fucking itself up. Top up the brakes or enjoy crashing a lot. Keep the radiator filled or you overheat. Busted axle, Fun.

Battery damage corroded the terminal wires? Better hope future cars don’t use the complex terminal assemblies a lot of new cars these days use. Serpentine belt wore out? You need a specific set of tools to replace those, and better hope it didn’t go out because the A/C compressor froze up.

The reason I though it could be considered bad is because.
The amount of coding for in the sense for towing a semi truck’s trailer for the two vehicles to both act as one and independently. i.e. When you turn the semi it doesn’t immediately cause the trailer to turn but for the trailer to eventually follow.

it’d be wickedly realistic to require you to make a specific path for mechanical or electrical power to each part that requires it, oh, and that turret needs two motors, 50 ball bearings, and it’s own suspension? make you think twice before moving it too.
more realistic vehicles would make solar/electric even more desirable, they don’t need as many parts, you could put a motor in each wheels to avoid axles, and need no motor oil. they are likely to be harder to make though, as they require electrical skill as much/more than mechanical.

The ability to grow a beard, and shave it too. Main affect is if you grow it out, it reduces the protection gas masks afford, unless you have a supply of hair gel.

The relative morale bonuses or penalties for letting it grow out or shaving it will depend on the character’s profession, creating a gloriously complicated clusterfuck.
