The Light Armoured Scout & ExploRation vehicle is designed to be agile while packing quite a punch.

What was the Old Saying? Float like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Bee?

where do you find enough diesel?

Lot’s of luck and prayer to RNGesus…

why not gasoline?

why not gasoline?
Diesel’s got style imo.

Here comes the SMUV (Solar Multi-Use Vehicle), for the compulsive hoarder who still needs to move into roads full of wrecked cars.

why not gasoline?
I plan to replace the Diesel engines on the L.A.S.E.R. with the Gasoline V-12s

Shit, that’s something I didn’t think about. What are we going to do about tilesets?

Just have people turn em off. That should work.

Yeah, ok. No tilesets, only vanilla. I’d like to keep it one, uniform picture, and most people use the default.

Well, been mucking about with modding in a vehicle design…

Finally got the kinks worked out, seems to be working just fine. I dub it…well I dunno yet. It’s sorta Merkava-like in layout, so maybe a chariot reference. Helios would fit, except it isn’t solar powered. o3o

Weight: A diminutive (for a tank) 2.17 tons 12 tons
Crew: 3, with driver/gunner/loader idiotically mashed into a single role.
Armament: 120mm tank gun, mounted M240, mounted M2 Browning.
Engine: Supercharged electric motor, 2 heavy-duty minireactors.
Payload capacity: An absurd 150 rounds, with space reserved for up to 1000 more.
Fuel capacity: 100 standard plutonium cells.
Operational range: To be determined.
Speed on road: 45 mph.

EDIT: Stupid fuel dialogue getting in my way, had to remove the reactors to verify its actual weight.

I never knew you could run a vehicle on dwarf planets!
[sup]Okay, I’ll leave .-.[/sup]

Stupid ammo display runover. ;_;

Speaking on runover, the tank gun is…a tad underwhelming, due to explosion nerf.

EDIT:

“Good hit!
You hit the zombie for 5211 damage.
The zombie dies!”

Nerfed or not, I love it when I get a direct hit.

EDIT 2: I still seem to be losing power steadily. Scheisse.

Add ALL THE NUCLEAR REACTORS!
[sup]How else could you survive a(n) Nuclear war Apocalypse?[/sup]

I already gave it two minireactors that should be running at twice as hard as a standard one. ;_;

Oh well. When in doubt,. beef it up MOAR.

Decided to post my current vehicle.

A modified SWAT Truck, equipped with floor trucks, a mini fridge, onboard chemistry lab, welding and forge rigs, kitchen buddy and unit, solar panels, a bed, and water tanks.

Also modified it to take gasoline instead of diesel.

I put about six mufflers in the back, and I’m wondering if these would make the vehicle any quieter?

Ow. Ow. OW.

What is it about diesel engines in this game were anything above 800 displacement is deafening? =w=

EDIT:

Still worth it.

One muffler per engine, all the rest are just weight. Yes, mufflers do make the vehicle operate quieter.

I like to build a custom quad for exploring, fast transportation and some cargo space for loot. Armored and supporting two nail turrets to mow down enemies as I fly by. I use this mainly for clearing the special structures that generate outside of cities.

Recon reporting

Sadly a single muffler does a fat load of nothing on big enough engines. Diesel seems to be louder than gasoline? Explains why there’s nothing comparable to the v12 in diesel.

I recently figured out you can make a car that is 1 tile big by attaching a engine and alternator (With gas and everything that comes with it) to a unicycle wheel.

What about batteries? Won’t they compete for space with a fuel tank?

Nope!

I found the picture for the basis of the build.
