Apparently it is. It is still not a big difference - biking at 36km/h (about 3 tiles/turn) is only as loud as walking.
Currently only full dis/reassembling. You can’t weld 2 cars together. You can’t even separate one car into 2 halves - try smashing the middle frame of a motorcycle without wrecking other parts - you can’t, not even with an anti-tank missile.
Thanks! Well, it was a humvee at first, then it was a humvee with crafting rigs and a couple extra trunks added at the back, then i started to build it wider and realized it’s becoming more and more clunky, so I dissassembled some of it and rebuilt in the way it is now. The only thing remaining from the original humvee is the seat and several frames around it.
Concerning loot vehicle: some players prefer going with one large vehicle both as a base and loot collecting machine, but it’s much hard to maneuver inside cities due to car wrecks if your vehicle is large, so I prefer building a 1-tile wide 4-tile long bike with a large electric motor or a V6 to allow high speeds.
I typically carry a huge amount of storage on me (at least 300), which sucks for encumbrance but if you use the double-back looting tactic, it doesn’t much matter.
Ie:
Build a fast, lightweight, efficient vehicle that can dip through traffic and avoid taking damage. It only has to be able to survive until evening. Drive it away from your mobile base and map out everything along the way. Don’t stop unless absolutely necessary (ie. the engine falls off).
When evening falls, hop out, note it on your map, and walk back in the dark to your mobile fortress, looting everything interesting on the way. Priority importance is gun shops, antique shops, museums, science labs, bunkers (I typically loot these ASAP and store it in the buggy for later use), and anything else you have room for. Try to avoid combat, but a silenced gun can take out just about anything in the dark even with enormous encumbrance. Avoid walking into flashing squad car lights or headlights that are still running.
When you get back to your fortress and are flush with loot, dump it all in the cargo hold and drive your behemoth to where you left your buggy. Get back in the buggy with an empty inventory, rinse and repeat.
How do electric cars work? Do they need to be left on in the sun to charge or do you need to be driving them around to get them to charge? And do solar panels and storage batteries need to be in the same tile to work?
No to the second question, as long as batteries are in the same vehicle, they will charge (also, they will charge if you have a petrol engine and an alternator).
As for the first question … it used to be that cars didn’t charge unless you were present. I am not sure if that is the case … and I don’t have a save where such a car is available, sorry.
Currently I’m rocking a food cart. I’m planning on building a few steel frames and slapping an engine onto it though. From there who knows how the food cart will develop. Ill probably slap a trunk on it.
1 time i created 1x1 vehicle just removed a wire basket and placed trunk after this i just atached seat and controls for engie i used foot crank but now i prefer electric engie because is more silent
Can’t say I’ve been using the vehicle system to build mobile devices lately. Mostly I’ve just been augmenting my commandeered evac-shelter with solar panels and crafting stations. However, I’ve got it in my head now that I want to start building up a scaled down replica of a P-1000 Ratte. I’m more scared that my computer will implode than of the requirements to build the thing… I’ll keep y’all updated!
Hard plated ram, two fully loaded fusion guns on the front, nine quantum solar panels, ten large storage batteries, three large electric motors, and more storage space than I know what to do with. I built the entire thing from scratch. The only things I brought from my previous world are eight of the solars and a few cargo carriers. I present the Solar Roller VI, the biggest vehicle I have ever built.
Latest experimental. Folks still on stable 0.A are missing out on a LOT.[/quote]
quick question, could I move my 0.A save to the exparamental? If so, how.
Well, I’m not sure if it would be a good idea to move your whole world. BUT you can move just your survivor, which you can just search up because I don’t feel like typing out all the steps.
