The time has come. There are definitely things that need to be added before stable, but we need people playing Ultica to test the new vehicle parts, so i am usurping control.
Excellent, Ulitca is so much better then deadpeople. Once I found it I never looked back.
Welp, I’ve been waiting for an excuse to get back into CDDA. I suppose feeling like an idiot in a brand new tileset, struggling with my survivor having put a hotdog into his knife sheathe in the middle of battle is as good of a time as any.
Is this the reason for RD+ becoming partially broken somewhere between 10916 and 10931? Workbench lost its picture despite it working fine for quite a long time(it is just red “#” now), same for vehicle trunk (except it becomes invisible). KitchenMaster from Aftershock, too. I checked and it did not change between the builds, neither did RD+ assets so I guess something changed in the code which is processing tilesets?
Probaly, if you could make a bug report listing what’s broken it would make it easier to fix it.
Things is looking good for tilesets in 0.F. I finished all the mi-go today. Just this week thanks to some dedicated contributors live AcePleiades and int_ua, we’ve added something like 300-400 new sprites.
I like the work on the new tileset, though it seems like a lot of buildings are using car parts and vice versa.
Anyone know what happened to the high detail chesthole set or MSX and some of the other old favorites that seem to have disappeared from the game? I’ve been poking through the forums and not found a decent answer to that.
Edit: Eh. NM. Looks like most chatter has moved over to reddit, and I guess most of the chesthole and MSX variants were caught up in some fair use argument or something? Ah well.
300-400 sprites in a week? this is incredible lol
Okay, I’ll bite.
WTF?
https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/blob/76117e4b5a8ab7fc1dd62f51bad950ac5167fb67/data/json/monsters/nether.json#L3 ?
What exactly is TF? I just wasn’t sure if the question was about the penguins.
Albino penguins are a Lovecraft reference and iirc have been in the game since before DDA.
So, nether penguins with a bodytype of a bear which can bite and impale… I’ll reiterate: what in the name of all that (un)holy is this?
Also, “sundeath” flag? don’t tell me they are also vampiric…
WTF is “what the friend”, obviously.
@Erk asking because I’ve never seen them.
I used to see albino penguins frequently during schizophrenic hallucinations back when I played characters with that trait.
I’ve heard rumors other people have seen them In the sewers, but I never have personally.
I had a “hobo with a shotgun” run end thanks to them. I had turned off monsters and thought the penguins were symptoms of the DTs, because I was hallucinating hard, until I got too close to one and it attacked. This was before NPCs would say stuff like “look out, there’s a giant penguin over there!”
Turned out “No Monsters” just missed removing them.
The one hazards of hallucinations. I had one character smeared across a wall because I was outside cooking and ignoring all the hallucinations, so naturally the very real hulk threw him against the side of a fire station so hard that his head looked like a Rorschach test.
Just want to point out a minor inconvenience: smoke, including thick smoke, is invisible when observed in the dark using nightvision. You just see regular tiles (probably from memorized map, because you shouldn’t be able to see through the smoke, right?).
e: and yes, this is ultica bug. RD+ and NeoDays show the smoke.
New releases are available, not the part of latest stable 0.E-3

If someone is up to it we could use porting it back into 0.E-4
and some compact screenshots showing the changes.
