The General I did This Creative Thing Thread (TGIdTCTT)
So this is a promotional post, but it’s art-related so I thought this seemed the best place to make mention of it.

First, some background: I was originally part of a roleplay group on a site called Tegaki. As you can see with the Tegaki link, “teg” is essentially a barebones forum layout in that it has threads with opening posts, and comments. What makes it special is that these posts are drawn with a sort of simplified MSPAINT setup built right into the browser (no downloads!), and the comments are likewise tiny drawing spaces. So our roleplay was an IRC-supplemented comic of sorts. It was very fun.

Now, Tegaki has problems. Clunky organization, a zillion and one ways to lose your work, unintuitive drawing tools and soforth. It’s a sweetheart that has taught me a lot of shit about art but I just can’t find the patience to use it as a medium any more.

Enter PaintBerri (name subject to change). It is built from the ground up by my friend and several associates of theirs, to start where tegaki and other in-browser art sites finish. They’re doing a closed Alpha and will eventually do a closed beta for those who give them feedback.

I think they would greatly appreciate feedback to help them shape the website to include the most-useful art features for the community they hope to build. I know you guys won’t have useful thoughts regarding what was wrong with tegaki (and thus what to avoid), but many of you here use a variety of art software that is prone to similar issues: crashes, top-used tools (like eyedroppers, select tools, layers. What do you find yourself using most and could not live without?), nitpicks about layouts or tools you never used ever. Suggestions on how the site’s contents should be organized (finding posts on a forum is easier since all content consists of searchable words… how does one do this with images?) would also be appreciated.

I am hoping that more voices in their feedback piles from outside of tegaki users might help bolster their courage and result in a better program.

I also hope that there are people who find the idea of an in-browser art tool that can be used for roleplay or otherwise creating art in a socially-shared way to be something wonderful.

PaintBerri Tumblr is the site describing and promoting development so far, as well as a link to their feedback setup, for anybody who might be curious in lending a voice.
Pthalocy is not creating a new thread and the content is at least relevant to the general topic, if not helpful for folks doing creative things. IMO this doesn’t trip the “spam” threshold.

I’m KA101, and I approve this message.

Wait, KA101, the makeshift crowbar isn’t on the list, but pipe is. A makeshift crowbar is literally a bent pipe… is this a bug?

I think you posted in the wrong thread, Pankin!

…I did, didn’t I?

Ahaha, I’d been looking everywhere for this thread again, I thought it was in the General forums for some reason but hey, I’m back again. \o/

I’ve been in a space game mood lately but I haven’t really had a chance to get back into Elite: Dangerous yet (Next week however I’m gonna be streaming it for sure!). The Zorgon Peterson Hauler has become one of my favourite ships, in part because it’s a very affordable early-game trader ship, and because inside and out it looks rather doofy yet utilitarian - like a space Ford Transit, kinda!

Anyway I was listening to"A Tiny Spaceship’s Final Mission" by FantomenK, and this came to mind, so I sorta hastily doodled the Hauler and then gave it a bit of a background.

The adventures of CMDR Chaz Serir shall continue soon, but for now, have one more bonus doodle of the Zorgon Peterson Hauler below.

God dammit, I’m caving to buy Elite: Dangerous now. I’m a sucker for really open world games.

You guess which game I’have been playing (again).

It was fun to draw, but I dont think I want to finish it up properly

THE LEGEND NEVER DIIIESSSS!!!

Hnnnggg you got to share that story! Just to know about the masked guy at least. Oh i love desert clothes and all that, yess.

Ok, i finally finished all the things and drawings i had to finish and i can totally do the things Peregrin asked me yay! Anyways,

Got demanded I make a fan gem as per Steven Universe being really popular (it’s very enjoyable so I’m okay with this)

redesigned Unfortunate Harv into kamacite (meteoric iron) ((because fuckyeah, he’s a space nerd))

It was an interesting little style study, though I’d have to do more to really get the SU look down. Fun!

Cool aliens stop.

this is the best thing I have ever seen. Seriously. The best. My mom asked what was wrong with me, I was just making these little chocked laughs. I will do anything in gmod, ANYTHING.

Hmmm… MUAHAHAH TOO MUCH POWER

I will leave it until i got a really good idea though! So keeping the rights of a gmod scene!

Sometimes I draw silly things with my characters and friends’ characters based on things I see that made me giggle. Sometimes these things are Vines, and the characters are mine and my friend Rabid’s GELFs from my sci-fi webcomic setting. In this case, Red GELF and Frankie GELF get into a discussion about their tenuous ‘friendship’.

Based on this vine by the always funny Jasminator!

Hahahaha, why.
That was fun.
