The HUB
So what do you folks think about this idea? So i have been feeling the maps themselves and the game, could do with one or some centralised points of interest, and so I thought about these last bastion “hub cities” that the old guard talks about., in the game, aka already lore.
How about actually making “the hub”?
I would love to start working on this myself, but I have zero experience in modding or coding
So a few things would apply to this hub city
**1: None changeable **
The city will remain the same size no matter what settings you use, only if you set cites to 0 will it not be in the game
And the city itself is premade and not generated
only 1 city will spawn per map, it will spawn very far away from the players spawn location, the quest to know its location will be given by the old guard in the refuge centre
2: Special structures and walls
The city will have walls surrending it, they could come with friendly turrets or guards in guard houses
There will be several special structures with the city, such as:
- internal walls, so the city is in section
- Automatic turret nest placed along the streets
- A central building, the last remaning HQ
- A trade hub
- Machin gun nests in stragtic places
3: NPC’s?
I think we all would love to see some npc’s going about on their business, maybe walking around, or tilting farm plots, or going to and from the city
But that is obviously a whole project in itself, so for now, maybe only static npc’s
4: Area around the hub
So as just about everything will have been collected and houses burned down to collect materials for the hubs, all surrounding towns within a certain range from the hub will be derelict, and half burned down.
This would also make it a bit more challenge to walk to the hub, as all resources in its proximity is already collected
5: Attracting hordes
Also a bit of side ide, that would be hard to realize
Since its the last and biggest bastion left, the city should attract hordes across the maps, or spawn hordes, that will attack the city, the city would need a way to either change dead guards defending the walls, or make them almost impossible to kill
6: Quests?
Maybe a quest to find and collect more people from the hub, or some other quests which would be very hard or take a long time to fulfil.
Maybe this is a stupid idea, maybe its already been put up before, idk. To see how many would find this a interesting proposal
