Tiniest of bugs, but I just noticed it. A giant rattlesnake was following me and my character “heard footsteps.”
The implementation of species specific footsteps was not really what it should have been. It’d be relatively easy for someone to clean it up but I haven’t had the time.
So yes, it’s a known bug.
