RetroDays Tileset

Sadly, compiling issues prevent windows users from compiling the tiles version, currently. =/

I don’t really know anything about compiling myself, but I grabbed 1799 from here earlier and it seemed to work fine.

I started new game with new tileset and I have a blast! Floating texts FTW :slight_smile:

This is the 10x10 one? Anyway possible to get the 20x20? if not no problem just hate playing with it zoomed in like that unless I am missing something. Been away for awhile so have not touched cata in a few months.

Yeah, that was a nice surprise. I added in the ASCII fallback stuff for the sake of future-proofing; I didn’t realise it would also allow the floating text to work in tileset mode.

really nice I use the 20 version.

TBH i see no reason to use the 10 because we can now zoom out to make the 20 look all most like the 10.

U use zoom out when driving makes it really clear whats ahead :slight_smile:

I was wondering about that. I always use the 10px version myself because I can see everything just fine (my monitor is only 1680x1050 though), but I did briefly test 20px zoomed out to 50% and it looks exactly the same as 10px like that.

Does anyone know if there are any caveats to playing the game zoomed out to 50% all the time?

There were some minor problems, like non-functional shift-v, but it seems these were resolved already. I will let you know, if I find some. I play mostly non-zoomed 20px though, using zoom mostly for traveling, so I might not noticed them.

It can be noticeably laggy on low end computers and some features fail to work properly in zoomed mode.

Thanks - good to know. Which features, out of interest?

I have no idea, but right away you can notice that mouse input doesn’t work when zoomed out, IIRC.

Any update on getting this into the experimentals?

This tileset is so awesome, blends perfectly with the CDDA atmosphere. But i saw some things that hadent gotten a tile for it yet, guessing new monsters (it was a week ago or 2 so i dont remember exactly).

So my question is this, is this tileset still being updated with new tiles for the new stuff thats being added?

Is there anyway that one can help with suggestions of tiles? (as in i draw a suggestions for new stuff, monsters, items etc., that i would like in the tileset)

Im quite new around here so i dont really know if this is the correct place to ask about this :slight_smile:
