Nightvision gradually increasing

I made a character with no Nightvision trait at the start. At first I could only see 1 square around me when its night time, pretty normal. When it turned autumn I could see 4 squares around me. Now its increased to 6 squares around me. I was wondering if this is a bug? I checked and I dont have any mutations.
