Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

On a more scientific note, copper (wires) and silver (jewelry) can be used to slowly disinfect water supplies by the oligodynamic effect.

making braziers charge based when placed and activated so it doesnt get smoke everywhere

I think they’re supposed to get smoke everywhere. They’re not a substitute for fireplaces or wood stoves.

Hmm, seems like the serum to me, but backwards?

The required light level for crafting is a little high - I’ve never had a thunderstorm prevent me from seeing a foot in front of my face (while under shelter) before. Maybe different crafting tasks should require different light levels? Specifically: a thunderstorm might prevent you from making clothes or soldering because you can’t see exactly what you’re doing, but it definitely won’t prevent you from hammering some nails into a piece of wood (i.e. nailbat). A very skilled craftsman (level 9-10) might even be able to perform simpler tasks blindfolded.

Also, atlatls. I’d try to add this myself but I can’t find definitions for bows in the jsons OR the code itself.

While I’m on the topic of ancient weaponry, shields? Probably only very rarely found in pawn shops, or museums if they’re ever added. Could also have recipes in a book (that one armormaking thing?)
Scutum or tower shield - must be wielded; adds a large speed penalty and blocks a large majority of attacks (esp. ranged), but prevents the user from returning fire unless they take the time to drop the shield. A survivalist version might have spikes so as to be set into the ground to provide temporary cover (as a construction?), or worn on the back to act as weak torso armor.
Kite? shield, riot shield, buckler, two-by-shield - equipped on arms; provides both encumbrance and chance to block attacks in varying degrees.
Of course, none of these would do anything against a turret. :frowning:

On the topic of ‘distilled mutagen’ - isn’t there at least one item (tainted tornado) that serves that purpose already?

KEVLAR SHIELDS

Not really. It’s a weak mutagen (whose purpose is to be relatively easy to obtain moreso than for fine-tuned mutations), but it absolutely shreds your health, on top of being an insanely powerful depressant.

Organ harvesting!
And mini-coolers to store the bagged organs to sell to factions for surgical purpouses.

Makeshift Flashlight:
-made of light bulbs ( found in garages), pipe/plastic chunks/metal chunks, batteries and switch(may be unecessary depth).
-decrease spawn rate of flashlights.
-can be found in survival shelters, basements (?)

That “surgical purpouses” reminds me of a movie: The Dictator ;D

Tool kits and the such that can be activatied to use the varios items inside…

Mountain climbers kit
Swimming Kit
Locksmithing kit
smithing kit
mechanics kit
Professional kit
woodcarving kit
alchemy kit
chemestry kit

Adding the atlatl (and shields, if i can figure the code out) since I realized I could base it off the slingshot instead of a bow. Does anyone know why bows aren’t in archery.json or ranged.json? I can’t find them anywhere else.

I forgot that tainted tornado does that, whoops. In that case, yes, less powerful mutagen would be nice.

I like the makeshift flashlight idea.

Aren’t flashlights craftable at level 1?

Kind of already there.

Wooden vehicle parts added via nailgun/hammer and nails instead of a welder/goggles.
Now adding engines, that would need a welder or some duct tape.

I think it would be a nice trade off, since wooden parts seem like they’d be incredibly weak, and therefore not entirely too useful for ‘proper’ vehicle construction.

Segways

Vehicle trunks with 10,000 storage. Bigger on the inside. Made with dimensional tech. Found only in lab finales.

Adding strategically-placed small fans to your trenchcoat/cloak/etc to make them billow dramatically when turned on gives them a ‘fancy’ tag.

Collapsable/foldable stocks allow 'a’ctivating the firearm and then retract the stock, reducing volume. It can be fired in retracted state but at high dispersion.

I would love this so much for pistol stocks so that I can actually put the gun in a holster.
