Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

It wouldn’t be a hotplate, it would be an oil torch.

Making training bullets out of wax.

T-ray goggles and their CBM equivalents that allows the user to see through visual obstructions in a limited radius. Basically technological clairvoyance.

Also, advanced goggles that can switch vision modes, Predator-style.

A mod to eliminate tank drones. Seriously. Walk past tree, see tombstone. Lather, rinse, repeat. Where dying used to make me excited to make a new character, unavoidable insta-death out of nowhere is making me take longer and longer “vacations” between games.

How to deal with tank drones:

  1. Get a vehicle.

  2. Drive to tankbot.

  3. Ram bow chicks wow wow tank bot with vehicle

  4. ???

  5. Profit, with a chance of failure and death. :I

Wait, this wont work if you only saw then when already in range of their bullets. Nevermind what I said then. :I

Captive bolt pistols ((AKA Cow Punches)) as a farm spawn. They consume compressed air as ammunition and can only target adjacent monsters but offer quite the whallop.

A post-cataclysm version of the above for survivors to craft. Two such examples?
a) A metal gauntlet girded by a pair of bolt-pistols, their triggers replaced by a simple pressure plate. ((This would depend on making melee weapons consume ammo with each hit.))
b) A bulked-up version that kicks like a magnum but takes more compressed air per shot
c) A burst-fire capable variant.

A survivor style mod that replaces the butt of a rifle with an axe-head or reinforces it to function as a club.

Reinforcing guns in general, as a mod. Gives durable melee to guns that lack it.

A crafting recipe that consumes appropriate martial arts gear (Gi+pants+tabi etc.) alongside leather or rags to make martial armor.

Survivor Skates - Because rollerblades are awesome.

Knouts - A direct upgrade to the bullwhip, featuring a myriad of toothy, metal tipped heads.

Survivor Ponchos/Cloaks

A fork in the end game gear, as an option to survivor armor. These are my suggestions.

a)Survivor Gear - You know and love it. Let’s call this option a.
b)Scavenger Gear - Pockets, pockets and more pockets. For the pack-rat in all of us these duds are for the post-apocalyptic peddler or problem horder. Essentially like wearing a duffle bag while mitigating encumbrance issues by clever use of load bearing gear Scavenger suits don’t leave much room for armor so instead make use of leather and light weight chitin. Even the boots and gloves have small pockets and the Scavenger Turban can be activated to function just like the makeshift sling item (as an over the shoulder carrying sheet)
*Unlike the Light/Normal/Heavy variants of survivor armor their would be:
-Scavenger Suit (the default)
-Sewer Scavenger Suit (Acid-proof and shock-resistant but less armor)
-Wasteland Scavenger Suit (Protects you from radiation and other contaminants, less armor)
*Scavenger armor isn’t designed for firefights, as such it offers less cutting resistance than survivor armor–but all those filled pockets add a bit of padding against blunt attacks.
c) Marauder Armor - This is the stuff you want to be wearing when you wade knee deep into a horde or interrupt a turret’s alone time. Crafted from plate armor and military composite armor it won’t really allow for storage, but that’s not why you’re wearing it. If you’re strong enough to bear the weight it’s the next best thing to powered armor.
*Marauder Armor is always super fancy (It looks like you jumped right out of a comic book) and the main suit can function as a scabbard
*Just as with the Scavenger gear it comes in several flavors

  • Night Marauder Armor (Crafted from samurai armor this is the least encumbering option. Lets you remain mobile while being protected.)
  • Marauder Armor (Crafted from plate armor this is the middle road. You’re not exactly agile anymore but you make do.)
  • Grand Marauder Armor (Crafted from ornamental plate armor this is what you wear when you expect to get shot/thrown through walls.)

In the same vein marauder armor could be a crafting ingredient in pseudo or bootleg power armor. REAL power armor is beyond you ability to manufacture–but a junky, battery guzzling mockery you need to charge in a recharging station? Maybe.

A new lab end where the prize is a chance to free/recruit/be murdered by a heavily mutated NPC. Consists of a long, heavily fortified corridor bristling with turrets. At the end is a locked cell containing an NPC with one full line of mutations. Reacts more positively to mutants than OPPRESSIVE HUMANS.

More end-game content balanced against sliding difficulty.
*Want to cast common copper into bullets? Just use this machine! Watch out for the military grade robots guarding it though!
*Want a mini-reactor and lots of plutonium? Just come to the nuclear power plant! Watch out for all the ravenous mutants living there though!
*Want to mount a metal recycler to your car? Just come to the junkyard! Watch out for all the deadly bandits…etc.

While we can’t explore the nether (yet) how about bringing a little piece of it here? Parts of the world could be ‘netherized’

Belt-fed full automatic coil/rail rifle. Craftable at high enough mechanic and electronic skills.

A while ago I complained about night vision effectively making you “blind” to lit up places which quickly ends in dying fast to turrets.

So I have a (possible) solution. Give night vision an animation. Kind of like rain animations. Lit up places are shown normally. Dark places that you can observe thanks to your night vision have some darkening animation that fades in and out around your character in some kind of pulse.

Adding the A7 laser rifle as a rare addition to the energy weapon lab finale.

More bicycles. Because people use those.

Foldable Survivor Bike, a crafting recipie with appropriate components

What would be the difference between that and regular bikes? Btw, I added a lot more items to the list of foldable parts, so you can make a lot more interesting folding vehicles.

Magnetic harness. No more cumbersome sheaths and scabbards. Now you can stick a whole bunch of knives and swords to your back through the power of magnetism!

Survivor tin can, survivor rock, survivor heavy stick, and survivor long string.

Oh you kidder.

I could see a survivor wishing to to tweak a folding bicycle for more storage space, armour, or portability. Who hasn’t wanted a folding peddle-powered bladed battering-ram at some point?

You CAN do this–I literally have a custom fold-bike ((Made from scratch, NOT the recipe)) that I store on my vehicle’s door. It’s as easy as picking it up and activating it on your way out.

I named it Ol’ Foldy

NAME IT FOLDEMORT

I’m pretty sure if I went to my local docter’s office I’d have a higher chance of finding a stethoscope then morphine.

At least make stethoscope’s 20% more common, I’ve had easier times finding power armor then these things.
