Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

And a huge penalty over a long time to moral if you loose it or break it

2 Gauge shotgun, for that Extra Guns onboard mod?
Example: The 2 Gauge Shotgun…: http://youtu.be/4wssCnvuVbU
And to add to that, shotgun shots spreading? Maybe simulate it by firing multiple lower power projectiles simoultaneously, with low dispersion but differing trajectories?

power armor should receive a strength bonus similar to hydraulic muscles cbm when powered

it would also be neat to have heavy weapons that can only be picked up and fired safely while wearing powered power armor like a .50 bmg machine gun or an upscaled rail gun

currently as is power armor is only useful for tanking damage which is a bit boring

I like the idea. Guns you can’t wield (vehicle turrets) are already in but flagged out against player use. It could also be a separate piece, like the hauling frame is.

Punt guns for vehicles.

Well, there are actually quite a few people that already can fire .50BMGs (M2HBs) perfectly safely, as in while carrying it (sling and all).
In the end it’s only a matter of personal strength and fortitude, the thing only weighs 80-something pounds (sans ammo, which you’ll need) but actually kicks no worse than the Barret thanks to it (which only kicks as hard as a 12 gauge w/ hunting load… honestly, that thing’s a kitten).
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and a few others have done it off the top of my head… and considering the extent of the Character Creation (and mutations you can end up with), there’s no reason why players couldn’t create people stronger than them…
On the weaker side, Kyle Myers pulled it off for a few moments (or so I’ve heard) and he’s no strongman… although he did hurt himself in the end, thus no video (again, or so I’ve heard), but still.

But I like the large weapons concept, but think that super-humans(?) should be able to use them too somehow.

A way to heal npcs or perhaphs have them sleep when you do
ability to equip them in a certain set of equipment if you are diplomatic enough or they like you enough
ability to treat them medically or have them treat you.
syringe gun- Shoots syringes filled with something or a nother depending on how you are feeling that day.
Concentrated Serum- a bit of a dangerous form that causes a massive amount of mutation- for those times you want to turn your npc freind into a cat.
Poppy Sleep concentrate- for shooting other npcs or wildlife to make them go to sleep and you an pick them up and put em in a crate.

Yeah I would love an (RPG-like) manage party screen, its definitively not a trivial thing to code though.

How about a minor “victory is mine” bonus? I mean it sucks I just slaughtered an entire kindergarten class that was trying to eat me but damn, I’m alive. Can’t think of a more justified morale bonus.

Ability to pick up and carry vehicles that are light enough.

I could see the thousand strength bear mutant tearing the turret off of a battleship and pointing it at something, but it seems dubious to me that there would be a useful trigger on it. So I feel that there is some room for vehicle/turret only weapons, but they would probably be convertible by a skilled mechanic… Which makes me think, it would make sense if the turrets and vehicles used the same system. But I guess vehicles don;t have A.I. for shooting the player. But vehicles with A.I. would be pretty cool… Not in the scope of this thread though…

The ability to split stacks, I’ve encountered plenty of times I’ve ended up burdened but have nothing I can toss away, I could easily have dealt with it by ditching half my duct tape instead of all of it.

You can split stacks.

*edit:

I ll add how to i guess?

you press d for dropping.
inser a number.
press the hotkey related to the stack of items.
press enter.
done.
If the item has no hot key you need to highlight it in you inventory beforehand like when your chosing an item. just hover over it with your blue indicator don t press any key .
then insert a number and chose the item like you normaly would .
This method is discribed in the screen that pops up when you press the hotkey for droping items… howd you miss it?

Basically a thing. Look into folding frames.

Hrm, guess I should just keep my mouth shut.

I didn’t at the start, but after 2 dozen runs it fades away along with the darkened “Multidrop:”

Vehicles from blueprints. Make an option to save a vehicle as a blueprint, to be offered when starting vehicle construction. That or let me drag my trunk on wheels down the stairs already.

Now that we have a mess kit fueled by lamp oil, why shouldn’t we include a hotplate (or something like this) fueled by oil? Sure, there is little difference between a hotplate and a messkit, so such an item would not be so overly needed, but on the other hand, there’s already a lot of (more or less) useless items in game.
To make at least a little difference, I’d propose to set the requirements for the autolearn of the suvivor mess kit a bit higher. Not really justified by reason (as the survivor mess kit ist basically just a oil fueled stove and some pots, so anybody could craft it), but the other survivor items are generally in the range of skill level 5-6. The oil-fueled hot plate could also be able to store a lot more oil than a simple mess kit. Not sure if such an oil-fueled hotplate could be found, but it should definitly be craftable.
