Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

you can find stethiscopes in hospitals
I’m pretty sure if I went to my local docter’s office I’d have a higher chance of finding a stethoscope then morphine.

At least make stethoscope’s 20% more common, I’ve had easier times finding power armor then these things.
Not to mention that stethoscopes kinda simple to make compared to a lot of the other items you are able to craft.

They’re rare because they are the key that opens yummy things.

so are sledgehammers + hydraulic muscles, but thats besides the point

Allow for scabbards that can be worn on the back instead of only just around the waist. That way, we can carry more swords.

Yes! We need head-scabbards! What, you never wanted to stick a knife in the back of a head-band?

Smashing safes can destroy contents I think, but I’m not certain. Imo, safe cracking needs an overhaul, which is why I added gun safes and electronic gun safes when I did the “lock up your guns” update. I don’t feel like those mechanics would work for regular safes though, and I couldn’t think of a good failure mode for failing stethoscope cracking.

Instruments you can play.

On modern safes, they contain a plate of thin glass which, when broken, triggers irreversible spring-loaded steel bolts to shoot home, rendering the safe uncrackable forever. It has to be totally destroyed to open it at that point. Most modern safes will also time-lock themselves if you get the wrong combination too many times, meaning you have to wait X hours to try again.

Uncrackable
Don’t some characters get their hands on acletyne torches at some point? I’d think that would cut through most anything someone is willing to pay to keep their guns in.

Well, the entire idea behind safes keeping things safe is that the tools that you can easily use to crack a safe are so clunky or loud, you’d pretty much alert every cop and security guy around to your presence.

But lucky for us, all the security and law enforcement have either joined the undead or are triffid fertilizer by now so just blowtorch away!

Edit: Of course, if you really make a lot of noise, you might just draw a horde into the bank vaults… with no way out.

High-altitude surveillance drone. Single use. Launch it high up into the air and it’ll scout out large areas of the map for you. Needs PDA/E-Ink tablets to receive data transmission from the drone.

Survivor crowbar- a crobar actually viable in wombat

That is disturbing. Do we even have wombats in the game?

Halligan bar.

All pretty lacking IMO. I might look into this. Currently, the crowbar is pretty much the best crowbar considering the Halligan bar has the same DPS for much more weight. An aluminum bat is actually a much better weapon than either of those.

We’ve been building out a line of craftable survivor weapons: there’s the survivor machete and survivor naginata, and a survivor crowbar would be a good addition as there’s not that much in the way of strong bashing weapons. http://cdda-trunk.estilofusion.com/melee

And how many hospitals have you found in your adventure? In my adventure of 30 days I have found precisely none.

Pretty sure that destroys the contents.

Homewrecker, even? If we really want to improve bashing weapons, i’d suggest going for something in the style of the homewrecker.

I think there needs to be an insulated tag on some items so even if it does have metal you won’t get shocked from hitting things with them… i would see this probably on chainsaws and such.

I like it.

New skill: Music. Making music Raises your’s and surrounding NPC’s morale. Craftable instrument (inb4foldable survivor guitar).

I hate it when I forget about ideas. I had so many.

Dynamos! There are flashlights that have cranks to power the battery. Mabye add a dynamo crank item that upon activating it receives charges and then works like an UPS. Takes time ofc. Mabye asks for how many charges you want to crank and the time that it would take is shown in brackets behind.
