Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

I would love to one day see a cataclysmic world where people do NOT carry around empty space that they believe to be an object.

Well, one way that will certainly not lead to such a world is whining about it in a thread that’s not meant for it (and generally), while the devs obviously know about the issue and are working on it.

Also it has been a long time for me to see a “none”. Try turning off random NPCs.

I’m not quite a fan of that, given that Enhanced Hearing seems to be a combat/industrial grade CBM meant to improve a persons undirected hearing, while also protecting them from loud sounds.
Fingerpick, then?
That’s a lockpick in your finger. Some things just need the tool, Flame.

Very well then.

Activate a loaded flare gun to shoot a flare up in the sky and illuminate the area for a short time. Actually use flares the way they were intended to be used!

I’m not sure DDA can handle that, actually–using something the way it was intended to be used?!

KA101 conveniently ignores jackhammers, pickaxes, fishing rods, cameras, welders, axes, saws, sewing kits, mechanical pumps, shovels, frying pans, hotplates, tents, flashlights, vibrators, umbrellas, inhalers, multitools, raincoats, lighters, yeah, pretty much most everything in the game.

Coffee makers should be able to make more coffee per powder/syrup (i.e more portions), otherwise what is the point of them?

I grant you the atomic coffee maker is basically an infinite water purifier, but the normal coffeemaker seems totally useless (a hotplate is much more useful).

They are next to useless in the cataclysm because they actually are.
Its an item of convenience. Something made to make coffe preparation an easy task. They exist because they do. Theres lots of precataclysm things that are not of much use to our survivors anymore.

Very well then.
What if there was a “tool” trait that would let you stethoscope things just by touching them?

Exactly what I’m saying, if that’s the case then why not add a small bonus to coffeemaking when using the item?

Also, please make plastic canteen’s (and the 2.5L variant) craft able and equip-able

So they are not doing that? Well i NEVER used a coffee maker… yeah maybe it should safe on preparation time quite a bit.

Atomic Hotplates- cooks food and can last a very long time, but irradiates the food a bit

moving the character statistics back up to the top, looking to the top and bottom of the screen to see all of my character info is a bit annoying

You sure your sidebar is set to “standard” instead of “narrow”?

Yes. We just changed it to take advantage of the empty space. I wasn’t thrilled at the prospect but with all of the devs (including myself!) rather Tasked with the release, mucking about to have the log happen both above and below the status bar wasn’t worth the bother.

KA101 used the wide version for precisely the same reason.

The ability to attempt a running jump over pits. I assume a human smarter than the average zombie can jump over (what I assume) is a 2-3 ft pit.

Good idea.

Good idea.
A concentrated acid spewer weapon would be neat. mechanics wise it would work exactly like a flame thrower but spays acid instead of fire.

are there supersoakers in the game? I’d love to see this as a craftable, using a supersoaker and a car battery.
