It’s not that simple, but I do have some plans for this: http://smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=8171.0
It’ll be some time for the first pull request, let alone having it working.[/quote]
Your ideas look great

We don’t have a string freeze on just yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Flame, jokermatt, others just warming up: canned tomatoes would make it in if you can get them written up and PR’d!
Looking into it. I’d need the actual item in comestible, a recipe for it based off of other canning, and an entry in item_groups for it to spawn. Am I missing anything?
Just a little nitpick but I think the unarmed fighting styles need a little more dex support. I just picked a char with 6 str and aikido but 10 dex. But the defensive throw (the only really usefull technique there) does a str check. Although ,in Aikido at least, you are supposed to move the opponent’s force against him. I realise that I wont be flinging zombears around but a low str unarmed char should have at least a chance. Maybe add some dex+per techniques that require strong awareness and dexterity to perform (high per to locate vital points or react to enemy’s movement for example) and actually deal damage.
Change the roll to a dex and per check for example and then make add a technique that deals massive damage on downed opponent for example would be one way. Sorry if that sounds like a rant. I’d just like to see every niche playstyle supported.
I went with a low strength high intelligence zui-quan practitioner. Aside from infinite dodges it dishes out a nasty counter punch and extra damage based on how smart you are. With little more than a few levels in melee and unarmed I was able to farm a fault line simply because very high INT gives great odds against their paralysis.
Akido isn’t the best style unfortunately, thanks to its damage debuff. I can’t say personally but I think it’s best against things that can feel pain, like armed NPCs.
Another personal favorite of mine is Roller-Judo. As with Judo you don’t lose time for being downed so fighting on roller skates is a great idea. Plus the mental image of gut checking zombies in the roller derby apocalypse is too good to pass up.
SUGGESTIONS***
How difficult would it be to add snow and ice to the world during winter? Without plows clearing the streets life could be real difficult come December, right? I’m thinking it would just sit on top of a tile like bushes or trees. Deep snow would slow down movement but get destroyed ((Plowed, packed down)) by driving or walking over it. Ice would have a chance to down characters not wearing sensible shoes and could cause fast moving vehicles to skid–if they don’t have winter tires.
Maybe a new tag to things like rubber boots: Non-slip. Meaning that character won’t stumble or fall when crossing slippery terrain.

By the amount of ideas and stuff you can think of it should be clear that implementing that stuff is not easy.
I believe Shoes was working on some “Ice-Content” some time ago, but I believe he might have abandoned it in favour of other features.
Canned tomato pull request created! I held off on tomato puree, as it’d be functionally the same in CDDA. I made it spawn fairly common (40, same weight as canned chicken and beans), so it should be available.

Merged. I took the liberty of adding it to recipes where it might be of use.

I love you people.
Going to finally get up off my lazy arse today and do that XL armour PR I said I was going to do ages ago because I feel guilty for someone PRing my tomato suggestion within a few days when I’ve done nothing myself

Awesome (tomato) sauce.
Shouldn’t constructions produce noise? I feel like im cheating a bit when im hammering etc and no sound is registered.
Repair Nanobots should be targetable, acting more like a bandage than a blanket heal. But if it takes more than a few lines of code, then forget about it.
Enhanced Hearing CBM should act like a stethoscope.
I’m not quite a fan of that, given that Enhanced Hearing seems to be a combat/industrial grade CBM meant to improve a persons undirected hearing, while also protecting them from loud sounds.
That’s true.

Fingerpick, then?
I would love to one day see a cataclysmic world where people do NOT carry around empty space that they believe to be an object.
Like seriously Nones need to be removed.

Actually removing nones from the code would not work, as they serve as a placeholder for empty objects. But yes, we are working on making it so that nones don’t appear in-game. Where did you see this none?
