Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

You still wouldn’t want your protoplasm to leak, right? XP

its more probly of a matter of focus to keep yourself together… perhaphs if you are fully slime intelligence also adds on to hp

Dragging moar storage through the city to me shelter.
With a locker with storage of 8000 maybe me game isn’t as laggy as it is with my loot nicely stored on piles on the floor.
As far as organizing my stuff goes there are two sorts of piles, edible and none.
Alas for the lack of miasma, some of my moose are getting rotten and the gallons of milk are way past the point of going bad.
Could some1 code a garbagepile like they have in DF?

Could some1 code a garbagepile like they have in DF?
  1. Garbage pile in DF is just a pile of items in a different place. What prevents you from taking all your rotten stuff and throwing it outta the window?
  2. DF is indirect control game, so ‘coding’ this or that compared to DDA is totally different I guess. Why coding you a garbage pile if you can literally “code” (create) yours ?

No?
It’s a single pile into which you can discard EVERYTHING.
Also at times NOT taking everything literally helps.

The garbage pile in D.F. is a place where the dwarves will manually drop garbage. The in C.:D.D.A. is a place where the survivor can manually drop garbage. I am a little out-of-date with D.F., but as near as I can tell, garbage piles are already implemented as much as they make sense to be, unless you want to have an A.I. that takes control over your survivor and automatically moves all the garbage to a designated location and then returns control to the player… Or do you mean something like an atom smasher that removes the items from existence? Or are you talking about a “forbid” designation that removes the item from your normal awareness?

It is just difficult to parse how a purely A.I. construct(the garbage designation) can translate to game that doesn’t possess protagonist A.I… So, umm, I am guessing that I am just not getting what you are saying, could you rephrase it?

Okay, there is a reference to a locker, and piles of edibles and none. So you want to walk over/into/past your locker and have all of your edibles or nones automatically placed in the locker?

Nano Celluose armor

Shia LaBeouf should say phrases from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuHfVn_cfHU

A little tweak that I would find useful: being able to save default world configuration from the world creation menu as you can save the default mod list you want.

…ohgod. Cataclysm now has ice cream trucks and wienermobiles. But…no ice cream? ;A;

I do believe that he is talking about quantum stockpiling. Which is basicly an exploit in DF… and therefor i don t see why we should do it… it would be like adopting another games error.

… Well I might have misunderstood as well.

making the floors when theres enough items on it turn into a pile of stuff that you have to sift through it for a certain amount of time depending on how absolutly massive the pile is… and have cabinets and such not form piles

The better to troll Azrad with?

I can only imagine how long it would be to find a certain skill book among a pile of 200 other skill books, 100 of which you have more than 1 of.

It would be nice if the tailor’s kit would count as a sewing kit in the action menu (so that you can do % s and repair / reinforce without going in the modification menu)

Or just have a repair button and it repairs if you have the proper item

Very much yes!

Im thinking that pine boughs should be an ingredient for superglue. I never make a blowgun, because rubber hoses are always easier to find than superglue.

Hi everyone, first post/new player here.

I did a quick search and didn’t find anything about this but IMO fire is incredibly OP right now. It only takes a single six second turn to light some brush or a shrub on fire, no chance of failure, no need for tinder or kindling, a single match will do. What’s even worse, if you light up multiple connected tiles, you instantly get a big fire, which is very effective at kiting enemies into.

Case in point; I started a game with surrounded start. All I have to do is run out of the shelter into the forest and start lighting fires and then run in circles around the fires while zombies die. Way too easy!

My opinion; it should take at least 1 minute to get a decent sized fire going, unless you have accelerant such as gasoline or alcohol. The spreading of fire should also take at least a minute.

There are other issues with fire as well, items held by enemies killed by flames should be destroyed much quicker. Using fire to easily kill enemies should be a trade-off, easy kills but much less loot/loot in need of repair. Also, it’s too easy to retrieve items from a flame. Just use ‘e’ to stick your arm into the fire (no matter how large) and pull stuff off the burning corpses. There should be a risk of burning yourself, there is not right now though. It shouldn’t be that easy to just take clothing off a burning body either, you should have to drag the body from the flames before you start undressing them.

Finally, if there is a corridor in between flames, you should not be able to just walk through. The heat would be way too intense but right now you can spend quite a bit of time before you start taking ‘very hot’ penalties.

That’s all my thoughts on fire for now, hope I posted this in the right place

I have so much superglue but rubber hoses are like gold man, where do you find them?
