yup, though theoretically you could get it from regular mutagen
Reminds me of running a high elf with the Apprentice birthsign on Morrowind, “I WILL kill that bloody elemental” etc.
Damn that was a build for masochists if there ever was one, payed off in the long run though.
Bought Morrowind some time ago just so I could catch up on some of the references and first thing I notice was the Khajiit and Argonians legs. They were so different back then! ( that and the graphics but that dosen’t count ).
Lore wise it made sense with the Khajiit since they have so many sub races that varied between being literally cats to humans with just cats ears. It’s true google it, it’s crazy.
As for the argonians its dosen’t really add up, one moment they had freaky lizard legs, next humanoid.
But I guess it’s just to reduce the amount of gear that’s needed to be created, than having 2 exclusively seperate sets.
TBH, I’ve never been able to play anthropomorphic type characters so I never got very far with Khajiit and Argonians so I never really followed their lore much.
Same with orcs though I did at least read through their lore.
I like to follow up on a lot of the lore sometimes. Makes for some entertaining revelations when you find certain objects or people.
Like the horrify fact that the old lands that the humans originated from is now a completely frozen wasteland by unknown means, and worse is that the same phenomenon seams to be slowly creeping towards Tamriel, with winters getting longer and longer within Skyrim with each passing season. Possibly leading up to a never ending winter which could spread to the rest of the continent.
As for races Nords are my Favorite lore wise. Gameplay wise it’s Khajiit, thanks to that Night eye ability of theirs.
For me it’s probably dwemer and (eventually) high elves respectively, probably because dwemer lore is pretty thin on the ground and cos I do like to use over the top spells. There’s nothing quite like dumping 200+ mana into one AOE spell just because you can.
I wonder if they will ever bring back the Dwemer, or least explains what happened to them.
Magic casting definitely cool, but high elves I find a bit hard to love, what with the whole Thalmor thing going on. That and a great deal of them (if not all of them) tend to look down on other races regardless of what their relation is to the Thalmor.
Veering further off-topic here, but Michael Kirkbride gave an answer in C0da. Whether you accept it depends on your taste for wild Hindu-sci-fi fever dreams. Basically they tried to escape from the dream by welding themselves onto the skin of their home-built god, Numidium, but they didn’t manage to make it all the way because they’re still attached to the universe by their desire to show everyone that they were right. When they return (unwillingly) in an event called Landfall, they bring a terrible doom with them.
That’s sounds epic! Possibly an event that will come up in some new game title.
It’s funny when you think about it, but there are ALOT of end world scenarios that come and go.
Other than the return of the Dwemer and the creeping frost from the north, there’s also Jyggalag to worry about ( sheogoraths Alter ego, aka the most powerful Daedra ). The Thalmor who are going for world domination and likely working with a hidden third party that gave them their edge.
The possibility of Alduins return since his soul was never devoured.
I mean, how Tamriel even survived thus far is some kind of miracle, or divine intervention to be precise.
The Vicious Whip doesn’t work with any martial arts anymore other than brawling, was this intended or did something bug out? Don’t know if this is a thing with any other summoned weapons.
It won’t show up in any games, partly because Kirkbride hasn’t been working at Bethesda lately (though I’ve heard he was consulted for the Skyrim expansion concerning Morrowind) and partly because it would be way too much for the budget (and the average gamer) to handle. Also it basically is the end of the TES universe, and Bethesda wouldn’t kill their #1 cash cow.
i think something went awry, since some new items (like the silent winds suppressor mod) doesnt appear on the mod tab, but ti does on the all tab for weapons
That’s a shame, I was worried that once it hit the online platform that all effort would be spilled into keeping that running.
Hitting the same discontinuation like Blizzard did with Warcraft converting into World Of Warcraft.
Only hope I got is that small trailer they had, though can’t say it’s much to go on.
since when did demon spider get though?, a rifle with bullets of 42 damage and 6 AP does nothing to them even at 15 tiles distance
They have the same cut armor as the skeletal juggernaut, so any weapon that you have that can hurt one of those should be able to harm a demon spider; however, their bash armor is much lower than the skelejug, suggesting the best way to deal with one would probably be to just hit him with a big fuckin’ truck. Definitely don’t want to go toe-to-toe with one with a warhammer or the like, though, since their average melee damage is about five times higher than the aforementioned juggernaut. Also they cast spells. A bit over-the-top, if you ask me, but I just rely on pulse lasers and mil. composite armor so, y’know, whatever, man.
still is weird, i remember killing them with the rifle hunter start rifle, so not being able to kill them with an advanced rifle took me by surpirse
The physics of chitin and the square cube law wouldn’t allow something with a chitin exoskeleton to even exist at the size they do in cataclysm. Logically one might ascertain that if they did manage to get it going then they would be on the fragile side and would then be easily culled by anything blunt and a lot of force/momentum behind it to crack open that barely-holding-together carapace. E.g. a sledgehammer, or as another has mentioned, a vehicle at ramming speed. Only reason why these are so tough is because they have magic beefing them up. Chitin does boast a level of resistance to cutting though, which is why bullets and blades struggle a bit.
You can get away with fighting them in close combat with some level of fire resistance, but if you want to do so at range I suggest the sling since its projectiles don’t do the cutting damage that bullets do, which the spiders resist.
A stack of .50 BMG will clear a spider nest, naturally.
I just hope there are plans in the works for neat things to do with demon chitin, because hoo boy do I have a lot of it sitting around.
If nothing else, I should be able to make blob feed from it like I can do with normal chitin. I doubt the blob’s all that picky. Demon chitin powder could also probably be a potion component or something. I have faith; Magiclysm hasn’t disappointed me much yet.
some plan, but i keep forgetting. blob feed is from a different mod, so i don’t guarantee that i’m specifically going to support that.
